Craft beer for the misfits and maladjusted.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We have been floating on cloud 9 since hearing that our collab took out the Champion Win at the @smithscraftbeer IPA Challenge last night! If only we could have been there to join in the good times!

It’s been so much fun being part of this event with the guys @brewmoon_brewing and @b.effect_brewing over the last three years. But this year was extra special for us because we got to play host!

Knowing that our team's recipe and brew took out the top spot makes this win feel that little bit sweeter. As the new kids on the block, we are just so proud of what we built together.

Massive shout out to our brewer @ethan_bowmar, the rest of our hard working team, our awesome collab partners, and everyone who has cheered us on!

Next job: get another brew on to get tins and kegs out there! by @thiefbrewing

We’re super excited to announce that Christchurch Breweries Festival is back! Join us at Volstead on Saturday, 7th November 2026, for a day celebrating the awesome brewing scene we have right here in Christchurch.

This will be the third time we’ve hosted the festival, following events in 2022 and 2024. With Volstead under new ownership this year, we thought it was the perfect excuse to bring it back for another round!

We’ll be bringing together breweries from across the Christchurch region, showcasing a beer from each participating brewery. We’ll be making a proper day of it, with live music, delicious food from The Food Dude, and plenty of great local beer flowing throughout the day.

Tickets are available now through Eventfinda -https://www.eventfinda.co.nz/2026/christchurch-breweries-festival-2026/christchurch

Your ticket includes:
🍺 A Christchurch Breweries Festival branded glass to take home
🍻 3 x beer tokens, each redeemable for a 285ml pour of festival beer (additional tokens will be available to purchase on the day)

So grab your mates, come along, and spend the day celebrating Christchurch beer with us! 🍻

We have a new release of the popular Peachy Cheeks peach and lime sour!

This is a crisp what refreshing sour with big notes of juicy peaches, fresh lime zest and a pinch of sea salt. Using real fruit on a delicate base of pilsner nalt and malted wheat, this fruity sour aims to please! by @thiefbrewing

Last weekend we were completely blown away, and so stoked to win the Smiths IPA Challenge!

This is a real dream come true for us, standing up infront of some amazing brewers and breweries that we love and respect. Knowing that on this night we made the best beer, was a surreal experience.

The beer Lunar Effect Hazy IPA was a Collab with
@thiefbrewing
@brewmoonbrewingco
This is the third year we have collaborated for this competition, and it is gratifying to have perseverance and teamwork pay off.

The biggest shout out has to go to Ethan and Thief where we brewed the beer. Ethan was our brewer before going to Thief, so the blood runs deep. Along with Andy our Head Brewer being the brewer at Brew Moon previously as well.

Its a real affirmation for the team, that all our hard work over the last year and longer is paying off. The team keeps going above and beyond to make great Beer and Kombucha for our amazing partners & customers.

Thanks must go out to Chris & Matt from @smithscraftbeer for all the hard work and putting this event on for the industry. They've really built something special down here in Central Otago. This was the first time its been won by any brewery from the South Island, so it was very special for them as well.

Thanks to @claytonhops_nz for being such good growers and supporting the event and industry.

Congratulations to Scotty @neckofthewoodsnz
for taking out people's choice award too, so great to see him back and smashing it!

Straight from the fermenter to the horse's mouth... Steve thieves a taste of our upcoming release, X-Rayted - a raspberry and chocolate stout. Rich, decadent, and full-flavoured.

It features a generous helping of local legends @barkersofgeraldine raspberry preserve.

Stout lovers, this might be your new jam! 🍓🍫(Heh heh so punny.)

Stay posted for a heads up when it drops, but until then you can shop our array of tasty beverages here:
