GLADIATOR II - The Golden Party ✨
Decadence, lust, and gold everywhere.

From the makeup to the hair to the costumes, I was in absolute awe watching everything come together. The preparation was intense, with countless tests and tweaks to perfect the look—but it was equally rewarding and so much fun.

Our brilliant designer, Jana Carboni, had such a specific and stunning vision for the characters and this unforgettable scene. Collaborating with a team of insanely talented artists, exchanging ideas, and learning new techniques brought her vision to life in the most beautiful way.

This experience reminded me that in our craft, there’s always more to learn and discover.

I had so much fun working on this project last year.

To Barbara Conway and @lorriannking thank you for all the laughs and for making every day on set such a joy.

We shot this beautiful post-apocalyptic story back in August 2024, facing some seriously challenging weather on an absolutely incredible location. Huge gratitude to the entire cast and crew whose talent and resilience made this film what it is.

Before you judge us—this happened before filming and before makeup fittings, okay? ☀️☀️☀️
We had plenty of SPF on set, not to mention a dedicated crew running around all day making sure our 937 daily background extras were lathered up and sun-safe. 🙏🏻

A couple of days before we started shooting Gladiator 2 in Malta, the sun decided to remind us who’s boss. During prep, some of the guys went through a boot camp to practice their fight moves and marching drills. Sounds cool, right? Well, several hours later, the sunburns looked less “battle-ready” and more “lobster army.”

Case in point: our friend here shows up for his first fitting, and ouch. I could feel the pain just looking at him.

We made it work, of course, but not before handing him a generous dose of aloe vera gel and having a little heart-to-heart about the importance of SPF—even if you think you’re invincible. Lesson learned: we look after each other, whether it’s on set, on screen, or under the blazing Maltese sun.

(And hey, let’s just say the sunburn made his character look extra weathered and battle-worn. Call it method acting!)
