So happy to have completed my newest mural - at the 9th st entrance of Blagden Alley :)

I am one of 8 artists selected by @dcdpw (MuralsDC) and the dc mayor’s office to paint a mural interpreting the country’s 250th anniversary. As I was assigned to a site in Ward 2, I chose to reflect upon the rich history of social movements and demonstrations that have taken place on the national mall.

thank you so much to @rose_inks for recommending me and providing mentorship + guidance throughout the process. and thank you to some really awesome helpers for putting in the work. this was such an honor and I am so grateful 💗

Belatedly sharing some of my favorites from a printmaking collab day with @thearcadedc ! We burned screens using my collograph plates and paper cutouts, then screen printed over patterns Beth made previously. We just played around and didn’t worry about the end result - which yielded some pretty cool prints!! Such a great reminder that some of our best work is made when we take the pressure off 🌈 taken in Edgewood (Washington, D.C.) by @thingsjuliamade

🏳️‍🌈Red Dirt Pride Market🏳️‍⚧️
Join us for @red_dirt_studio annual queer market next Sunday June 28th 12-5pm.
We are thrilled to have over 30 queer artists, creatives, and mutual aid reps present for a glorious end of Pride event! There will be art, clothes, tattoos, jewelry, music, and ways to get involved in the local community.
There will also be a pop-up queer artist exhibition in the Firehouse Gallery for the run of the market to showcase the brilliant talents of the involved artists.
Save some money for the Best Queer Art Market in town!

1) TICKET TRANSFERS 🎟️
A few days before the event, some ticket holders are usually unable to make it. This time around, we’re making it easier to connect. Keep an eye out for a dedicated Ticket Transfer post coming soon so buyers and sellers can find each other in one place!

2) GIVEAWAY 🏆
We’ll do a giveaway of 1 ticket each to two individuals the week before the event. Stay tuned, we’ll post here when it’s live!

@wemakedc250 opens may 1! Thanks for the opportunity to design a ward 4-inspired mural, @shopmadeindc :) I’ve lived near Rock Creek Park for 3 years, and it was an honor to create a visual love letter to a beautiful place. It’s home to some very special creatures 🦉🌱

And obviously 🖕🏼 the current administration for taking away funding and resources from our national parks, including this one. Boo 👎🏼 by @thingsjuliamade

Open studios is Saturday may 9!!!!! I painted a mural in my studio I’m not gonna post on the grid, so you’ll just have to come in person to see it :D & a bunch of other odds and ends I’ve been making at @red_dirt_studio ⭐️
