It's my pet theory, but I don't think it's possible to write music that is truly negative, no matter how dark it sounds. Whether it agitates or calms, it's part of the environment you build to grow your future. Music always affirms something.

As an indie, I'm very much invested in people who are looking to dump the mainstream, break with the herd and bring about a true renewal. My music is made for that and I have lived my whole life running in that direction. If that's you too, then come get your frequency raised --

Saturday 7 November @coda_tremont in Cleveland with @muddofficial and @zoloft.band (event produced in conjunction with @themantheycallmoon )

Enter the house. Step through the mirror.

It's something you embody.

It's the core of you and it doesn't fit neatly into a row. It radiates in ways that words alone do not. Come out and radiate with us while we turn our insides out in Fort Wayne. Music for resonators!

Brian Bacon leads a psychpop band from Cincinnati, OH called Thin Palace (@thinpalaceband) For the past 2 years he has been performing his dramatic, melodic rock on regional stages, filling out a traditional rock band configuration with lavish, live-performance synth arrangements the likes of which very few acts attempt on stage these days. Thrumming with the energy of liminal spaces and certain to induce a vivid nostalgia for a place you’ve never known, Brian’s music will stick with you long after the final chords have died away.
Go give @brianbaconmusic AND @thinpalaceband a listen 🎶 Check the comments for links 🔗
Then come catch them live this Saturday at 11am!

We’re honored to have Brian Bacon and his band making the trip down from Cincinnati, Ohio to play @wienerfestofficial this year! We love getting to bring bands from outside the area into the Wienerfest mix, and we’re really looking forward to having these guys with us. We’ll see you in the crowd! 🙌🏼🫡

This is no time for improvements!

It's always faster, fitter, happier, more productive and never less exploitative or more humane or more aligned to the needs of the people or the planet. And the premise is eerily familiar to anyone who grew up in a church pew: "you don't have what is required inside you, some superior power needs to fix it for you" (in this case, with better technology.) It is time to revoke the priority status of the myth of progress and it's priests. Their game is the same old shame game.

Combat the monoculture of "continuous improvement" by coming out and getting unadjusted with local artists and venues who are continually raising battle cries for you!

It's just, like, my opinion, man!

But the original music scene in Indianapolis makes a mockery of the mainstream's anti-midwest bias.

Check out music by these artists and more at the playlist I made for you in Bandcamp (app not required). Follow the Music I Recommend link under my bio to hear!
