We’ve added a second Sunday Service! 🥳 We are now gathering on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at 10 AM in the same space.

As we each individually seek to live a spiritually integrated life, it’s important to create a rhythm for collective rituals and practices that connect us in community and deepen our spiritual growth.

Gathering twice a month is a great way to stay grounded in times of chaos, remember our true selves, and come into alignment with God’s presence, power, and purpose in and through our lives.

This is a huge step for us as a community, and we’re so looking forward to being together more frequently! 🧘‍♂️

*** P.S. We are searching for a qualified person to oversee the kids during our services. We have a safe and secure area for the kiddos and are looking for someone who can be with them! DM for info! ***

Sure, beliefs are helpful and important, but the way we live, move, and have our being is far more important. You will know a tree by its fruit. Remember that!

At Current, our native spiritual heritage is rooted in the mystic Christian tradition.

We are convinced that Jesus' profound timeless wisdom has much to offer modern day spiritual seekers and we are honored to hold space that reclaims and integrates the true essence of Christ’s teachings: Love, compassion, and oneness with God.

Such a great first night together for the Gospel of Mary Magdalene group! 🥳 I sent out the slides via email but feel that our greater community may enjoy going through them as well, so I decided to share them here too 😃 - Luke

“It is in deep solitude that I find the gentleness with which I can truly love my brothers and sisters. The more solitary I am, the more affection I have for them... Solitude and silence teach me to love my brothers and sisters for what they are, not for what they say.”
• Thomas Merton

This Sunday Luke is sitting down with his dear friend Collette for a live, podcast style conversation about the Gospel of Mary Magdalene.

Collette is such a wealth of knowledge on this, and honestly it only feels right to have a woman opening us into the Magdalene tradition in preparation for our six week small group starting on the 22nd.

We’ll be hearing more about Collette’s initial invitation to this tradition, debunking some of the common myths around Mary Magdalene, and landing on the core teaching of this gospel: 𝓐𝓷𝓽𝓱𝓻𝓸𝓹𝓸𝓼

Which is the Greek word scholars use to name its vision of the fully human, fully divine nature that isn’t just true of Jesus, but open to all of us.

This one is going to be rich, real and super fun! Come with your curiosity!

~ SO HUM ~ I AM ~

Such a beautiful time together for our first Embodiment Sunday gathering.

Huge thank you to @ryanthomasneace and @bees_neace for the invitation, for hosting, and for offering their wisdom and intention with us.

And huge thank you to @sea__pony for leading us into the sacred space of our breath + body. It was truly amazing!

And huge thank you to everyone who showed up with an open heart and open mind.

The Presence was real and tangible.

Many friends had reports of significant breakthroughs, which is so powerful to be able to witness and walk through together.

We’re already planning another one, so stay tuned!

See you Sunday for service ❤️‍🔥 taken in San Diego, California by @this.is.current

Great read this morning from @cac_abq Daily Meditations email. Loved this part in particular:

“The true self is the Divine Indwelling, the Holy Spirit within us.

I would say that the true self is precisely the divine part of us that is great enough, deep enough, gracious enough to fully accept the human part of us.

If we are merely human, we will tend to reject our embarrassingly limited humanity. Think on that!

Paradoxically, immense humility, not arrogance, characterizes someone who lives from their true self.

They simultaneously know they are a child of God, but they also know that they didn’t earn it and are not worthy of it.

They know it’s entirely a gift (see Ephesians 2:8–9 and throughout the Pauline writings).

All they can do is thank Somebody Else, occasionally weep with joy, and kneel without any hesitation.

The true purpose of mature religion is to lead us to ever new experiences of our true self.

If religion does not do this, it is junk religion.

Every sacrament, every Bible story, every church service, every sermon, every hymn, every bit of priesthood, ministry, or liturgy is for one purpose:

to allow us to experience our true self—who we are in God and who God is in us—and to live a generous life from that Infinite Source.” - Richard Rohr

Definitely recommend signing up to receive their emails! taken in Carlsbad, California by @this.is.current
