Our mission is simple: Build an independent bookstore & tea shop in downtown Billings, MT, and turn it into a literary and cultural hub.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This weekend is the second Sunday of the month...and that means Yellowstone Repertory Theatre will be doing a table read of a play at 2pm on Sunday, October 11th! This month it is DO YOU FEEL ANGER? by Mara Nelson-Greenberg. After hearing from so many people how much everyone enjoyed YRT's brief scenes at our 10-year anniversary celebration, we hope to see a bunch of those people at the Second Sunday play readings! #DowntownBillings #LoveWhereYouLive #SupportLocal #BetterOffInBillings by @thishouseofbooks

Dolly Parton would want you to support your local bookstore, so I’m supporting This House of Books in Billings, Montana. I grabbed a copy of “The Pillagers’ Guide to Arctic Pianos” by local author Kendra Langford Shaw.

Like everyone else, we are mourning the loss of Dolly Parton, who was not only an amazing talent but also a magnanimous spirit who did a tremendous amount to support literacy through her Imagination Library. As part of our mourning process, we would like to invite anyone to come in and share with us what Dolly Parton meant to them...we have a box of books that we use for donations, and we are opening it up this week in Dolly's honor to anyone who needs a book to help them grieve. (Note: Sadly, none of the titles are Dolly Parton-related!) #GrievingTogether #DollyParton #LiteracyQueen #ImaginationLibrary #BetterOffWithBooks #BookCommunity by @thishouseofbooks

The next four days are packed with events at your favorite Downtown Billings bookstore that is on the 100 block of N. 29th St! (Too many bookstores downtown to really pick a single favorite...especially with @late_night_chaptersmt being downtown-adjacent now!) Thursday (8/20) explore e. e. cummings with Shelley Ellis at 6pm, Friday (8/21) stop in for Open Poetry Night at 5:30pm, Saturday (8/22) Edie Vogel will be signing books during Farmers Market, and Sunday (8/23) is our Summer Reading Pizza Party at noon (all ages are welcome!) and The Magic of Medieval Manuscripts at 2pm. #SupportLocal #LoveWhereYouLive #AlwaysSomethingToDo #OkayWeAreNotOpenAtMidnight #BecauseWeAreReading #OrPossiblySleeping #ButProbablyReading #ReadingCountsAsDoingSomething #AudiobooksCountAsReading by @thishouseofbooks
