IMEX America, here we come. 🇺🇸

Next week I’ll be heading to Las Vegas for one of the biggest weeks in the global events calendar.

I’m looking forward to discovering new destinations, uncovering fresh ideas and experiences for our clients, catching up with industry friends and partners, and strengthening the relationships that make this industry such a brilliant one to be part of.

In a world where technology continues to evolve at pace, there’s still nothing quite like face-to-face conversations, shared experiences, and the opportunities that come from being in the room together.

If you’re attending IMEX America, I’d love to connect. What are you most looking forward to this year?

SPECTACULAR SINGAPORE 🇸🇬

Our destination is on Singapore - and not just because Crazy Rich Asians is trending on Netflix at the moment!

We’ve actually got a lot going on in the Southeast Asian city this month. From group accommodation across multiple properties for one client, to @michhaelgabriel heading out there soon on behalf of another client - it’s clearly the place to be right now!

Singapore is a melting point of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western cultures that culminates in some of the best cuisine in the world. It’s also a fantastic mix of past and present with its futuristic Supertrees and impressive heritage.

It’s a great destination for large-scale conferences or luxury incentives and if you haven’t seen the aforementioned Netflix movie it is definitely worth a watch!

BLACK BOOK BTS: EVENT DAY 🤩

Part 2 of our behind-the-scenes documentary from one of our biggest events of the year! 🎥

For this event we did venue sourcing, group accommodation and full event management!

This included working with suppliers in catering, production, sponsorship and activations ✨

Follow @rebecca_jadex and @jodontforgetthee as they take us through the event as it happens. Book signings, branded matcha stations, live podcasts, AI trading cards, AI limericks, t-shirt printing and of course plenary and breakout content sessions all took place at @oldbillingsgate

We’ve worked on this event for a number of years now but “no matter how long we’ve worked with clients, we like to keep it fresh and innovative” - so new venue, new format and new challenges! ✨

And the client and the delegates were over the moon with the result, catch Part 1 (Build Day) to see how it all came together beforehand 🎞️

BEST HOTELS 2026 ⭐

Last week @the50hotels was announced and @rosewoodhongkong topped the list for a second year in a row!

And so, we asked the Black Book team which hotel in the list they’d most like to visit and why...

Naturally @jodontforgetthee wanted to stay at the best of the best - keen to find out what all the fuss is about and to visit Hong Kong 🇭🇰

But if he wanted to do an Asian tour he could because the Top 10 was dominated by hotels in the region - with Capella Bangkok (2), Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok (3), Mandarin Oriental Qianmen (7), Upper House Hong Kong (8) and Mandarin Oriental Bangkok (10).

However, properties across Europe also showed a strong representation too, in fact 21 hotels from the region featured in the Top 50 – the highest proportion of any region in the list. And leading the pack in 5th place is @michhaelgabriel ’s choice: @passalacqualakecomo the 24-room property was named The World’s Best Hotel in the inaugural ranking in 2023 and three-time winner of the Best Boutique Hotel Award 🇮🇹

@lucasxdowse also opted for a Top 5 hotel with the @atlantistheroyal in Dubai. It was also a second year of success for the property, which once again took home the duo of titles as The Best Hotel in the Middle East and winner of the Best Beach Hotel Award 🇦🇪

Meanwhile @rebecca_jadex and Kay Bradshaw opted to look at the full Top 100 list with their selections, choosing @capellahanoi and @amannewyork respectively!

Where would you stay? 👀

M&IT AWARDS 🏆

Friday night was one of the biggest events in the UK MICE industry calendar - the @mitmagazine Awards!

The team was hosted by two wonderful hoteliers. @lucasxdowse was on a table with @rebeccapetitjean from @accor while @michhaelgabriel was hosted by @aoifemcconn from @marriotthotels ✨

And what a night it was!

Hundreds of event professionals gathered at the @grosvenorhouselondon for a night of celebration and networking. It was also a great opportunity for the team to reconnect with hotels, venues and destinations in the room to further strengthen our relationships in the industry.

PS. Don’t they look dapper?! 😎

BLACK BOOK BTS: BUILD DAY 👀

Part 1 of our behind-the-scenes documentary from one of our biggest events of the year! 🎥

All too often people post the polished event once everything is done and dusted, but we wanted to give you a glimpse behind the curtain of what it’s like building an event before the doors open to delegates. 🎟️

Watch @jodontforgetthee and @rebecca_jadex take us through the venue as they explore the build-up to the big day!

We’ve worked on this event for a number of years now but “no matter how long we’ve worked with clients, we like to keep it fresh and innovative” - so new venue, new format and new challenges! ✨

And the client and the delegates were over the moon with the result, watch this space for Part 2 to see how it all came together 🎞️

PURE IMAGINATION 🫧

@jodontforgetthee went to revisit @onealdwychhotel last week on a site inspection and was reminded of a Roald Dahl classic…

Right in the heart of London’s West End, the hotel offers it’s own touch of theatre with a Willy Wonka-themed afternoon tea served with fizzy lifting champagne or Delicious Purplicious cocktails ✨

The Black Book team is always out and about getting first-hand experiences of the hotels and venues so that we know exactly what we’re putting forward to our clients
