ＪＡＣＫＳＯＮ ＦＡＲＬＥＹ⁠ Nature Machine: 6th Tamworth Textile Triennial⁠ 19 SEPT - 22 NOV⁠ Tamworth Regional Gallery⁠ ⁠ ⁠Created during his residency at the Australian Tapestry Workshop the triennial features a new work by Jackson Farley, 5318008 7734 0.7734, 2026.⁠ When a machine begins to operate outside its intended purpose, a new genesis begins. This work imagines that moment: the speculative birth of artificial intelligence, emerging through pattern and image.⁠ ⁠ The title, 5318008 7734 0.7734, references calculator language which, when inverted, reads hello / hell / boobies. Once a playful form of early human–machine interaction, these numbers become the work’s opening utterance: the first words spoken in a new technological genesis.⁠ ⁠ Curated by Blake Griffiths, the triennial is a major national exhibition that showcases the vision and innovation of contemporary textile practice across Australia. Her work explores relationships between people, place, and the environment, often addressing ecological, social, and political themes through powerful site-specific actions and poetic visual imagery.⁠ ⁠ Since the late 1970s, Jill’s work has delighted, shocked and moved audiences nationally and internationally, including in Paris, Beijing, Amsterdam, New York and Venice.
