Should fossil fuel companies be held accountable for deceiving the public about climate change? ⚖️ That's the question at the heart of Suncor Energy v. Boulder County, now before the U.S. Supreme Court.

A ruling in the case could affect dozens of similar lawsuits nationwide in which states, counties, and cities are seeking to hold fossil fuel companies accountable for climate damages. A decision is expected next year.

Rally to Protect Children's Health Over Big Oil ⚖️🔥

Suncor and ExxonMobil are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to strip state and local governments of the power to hold fossil fuel companies accountable for climate harm, after Boulder County and the City of Boulder sued both companies for allegedly deceiving the public about fossil fuels' climate impacts for decades.

Now Boulder youth are fighting back. A recently filed amicus brief shares their own stories of how uniquely vulnerable kids are to fossil fuels and climate harm, arguing states have always had the duty to protect their citizens from fossil fuels, especially children.

Big Oil wants out of accountability. We’re showing up to say no.

On Monday, October 5, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear Suncor Energy and ExxonMobil’s bid to stop Boulder’s climate accountability lawsuit from going to trial. The companies are asking the Court to dismiss the case, arguing that states and local governments have no independent authority to hold fossil fuel companies accountable for climate harm.

Our Children’s Trust, alongside eight young people from Boulder and a national pediatric climate health expert, filed an amicus brief urging the Court to protect the authority and duty of states and local governments to protect their communities, especially children, from fossil fuels and climate harm in state courts. This power is especially important as climate protections are being eliminated and more fossil fuels unleashed.

Our Children’s Trust will be at the Supreme Court alongside youth from Boulder and our partners at the Center for Climate Integrity and Fossil Free Media Join us in showing up for climate accountability for our communities, children, and future generations!

French oil giant TotalEnergies has agreed to abandon two offshore wind projects in the US and says the recovered money will be reinvested in LNG, oil and gas. The US Department of the Interior says $928 million will be redirected into these projects.
That is not a transition. It is a fossil fuel choice.
In France, households, towns, schools, hospitals and public services are already paying the cost of climate breakdown. TotalEnergies should pay its share.

We need money for people’s needs, not the war machine! In the same year, Congress cut $1 trillion from health care and food assistance. Senate is on the brink of passing a $1.6 Trillion budget for the pentagon. We can’t afford rent and healthcare but congress can fund genocide and endless oil wars?

We must say no to expanding the budget AND the outrageous merger between US and Israeli militaries.

This week, Vhon Michael Tobes (Director of Zero Hour Philippines and Zero Hour Southeast Asia) was among the environmental advocates gathered in Cebu for a Rights of Nature Training.

The Rights of Nature movement in the Philippines is growing with more and more civil society organizations and youth groups and individuals pushing for the legal recognition and the passage of the Rights of Nature bill.

From 22-24 June 2026, environmental advocates across Central Visayas gathered in Cebu for a Rights of Nature Training, deepening the understanding of grassroots movements of rights of nature, ecocide, and the importance of calling for a declaration of a nationwide climate emergency.
