My monthly nidra and sound meditations are back at Northend Village Hall RG9 6LJ.

£14 PAYG

Next one is Friday 23rd October 6pm

1 hour to rest, explore where your mind takes you as I guide you through a nidra and sound meditation. Nidra is designed to send the brainwaves into the state between waking and sleeping- a space of deep rest and recovery. Said to be the equivalent of 4 hours sleep, and with a body of research backing the therapeutic benefits to both body and mind.

The perfect way to ease into your weekend 🍁🧡✨️

Spaces are limited. Bring comfy clothes, blankets (some of my regulars bring sleeping bags 🤩), pillows - anything to support you as you rest.

It's all about balance, right? 😅

Or perhaps it's about accepting that sometimes life is a bit of a balancing act, and that's OK too.

This weekend has been a lovely jumble of things...

🧡 Volunteering at @henleylitfest

🤸 Another fully booked family aerial workshop at @graceandgravitystudio

📚 Curling up with my shiny new signed copy of @jonronson 's latest book

📺 Traitors in bed with the smalls

🍂 An autumn walk in the woods followed by pizza at @spireandspoke

🎨 Painting updated chalkboards for G&G

🪡 Sewing up aerial slings

🛒 And the inevitable food shop, because life doesn't stop for the fun stuff!

A little bit of everything. Some things that fill my cup, some things that need doing, and plenty of life happening in between.

And I think that's the thing about balance. It's not a perfect state we arrive at. It's something we're constantly adjusting, responding to and renegotiating as life changes around us.

Which, as it happens, is a big part of what I explore with my coaching clients.

Over the coming weeks I'm firming up some lovely plans for the months ahead, with studios, collaborations, partnerships and private clients. Lots taking shape behind the scenes, and I'm excited to share more soon.

I also have a handful of spaces left for whole-person coaching before the end of 2026.

My coaching is completely client-led, with an approach that draws on my training in nervous system regulation, mindfulness and somatic practices. My coaching training has been approved by both the ICF and IPFM, giving us a supportive framework to explore whatever feels important to you.

Whether you're navigating change, feeling stuck, or wondering what might come next, there's space to explore it together.

If that sounds like something you could do with, pop me a message. I'd love to chat. 🧡

And in the spirit of balance... what's one thing that's filled your cup this weekend, and one thing that's simply needed doing? 🍂 x taken in Henley on Thames by @thisluminouslife

One of my many takeaways from this years @masterseventsltd Transform Trauma conference 2026 was @drtaraswart sharing the power of the practice of noticing beauty as a tool to address the fragmentation that we experience increasingly in life in general, and when facing challenge, whether through trauma, loss and grief, or other stressors.

Here are some snapshots of beauty I have noticed since.

When we engage in noticing beauty, we are engaging with neuroaesthetics - engaging brain regions associated with nervous system regulation, problem solving, and meaning.

The most accessible form of beauty for me is nature - I am so fortunate to live so close to stunning natural spaces. For some it may be art (in the broadest sense of the word - galleries, dance, music, theatre).

We have been playing with a guided meditation on this theme in my senior classes lately, and it has been beautiful for me to hear where people's brains take them - a visually impaired friend sharing how she immediately thought of a conker resting inside its soft case, another sharing the smell of their favourite meal growing up.

So your invitation today and over the coming days - what beauty can you notice around you?

Opportunities to meet on the mat over the next few days:

Today
12pm Hot Yoga @strivestudiohenley

Between class musings on the mat 🧡

That feeling of life happening to us can be so real- looking at the diary and thinking "once that's out of the way, then I can think/rest/take a breath/fill in the blank".

And before we know it, another day/week/season has passes with life just happening to us. Those patterns of behaviour, thinking, being just rolling on by. Unengaged. Leaving us a bit frazzled. A bit disconnected. Not quite where we may have planned. Unintentional.

In yoga these repeated patterns are called samskaras - developed over lifetimes (ours and others) of repeated unexamined patterns.

On the mat we can play with these - pausing, choosing. Off the mat we can do the same. This is something we explore in my whole-person coaching work - bringing in intentionality to life.

Because as John Lennon said "life is what happens when you're busy making other plans".

So the invitation today is to pause, notice, and be a participant in this life of yours. Engaging with the now - not the "when that is done".

A challenge for me as well as you 🙂😘✨️xx taken in Henley on Thames by @thisluminouslife

Huge thanks to @ultrachallenges for yesterday's Chiltern Challenge. The 4th Ultra Challenge event I've joined with them, and my first 25km.

After a knee injury following last year's 50km then 3 peaks shenanigans 2 weeks later, yesterday was a way to ease back into things and get myself challenged, without risking further injury.

A stunning September day in stunning local countryside- the variety on the route is just great - from deer parks, to river side, town, woodland trails, and farmland, grazing horses to weirs and some juicy steep sections in there too.

Again this song worked as my pace keeper meaning I finished in 4.55 hours including rest stops 🧡 A good baseline for future events - currently 57km booked for next year but am eyeing up another 25km next month after yesterday 👀🤩

@ultrachallenges run such great events - everything you could think of is covered (including a pick n mix stall at one of the rest stops 😄💃, really well supported and marked trails, hot meal and prosecco upon finishing, free massages, free finishers t shirts and medals and lots and lots of lovely people). I met so many lovely people doing it from all over. If you're looking at events, they offer 10k, 25k, 50k with options to walk, march or run at their events all over the country. I really recommend them 🧡

Yogis - if I am demoing forward folds less tomorrow, this is why 😄 Though after a 7.30am yoga session with the Twyford @scouts celebrating their 40th anniversary at @stonorpark with @thelittleyogastudiotwyford I am definitely a bit more limber 〰️

Yoga is 👌 and it is SO good to balance it out with other movement as well 🧡 It's all about balance right? xx taken in Henley on Thames by @thisluminouslife

Yoga is a conversation.

And every time you come to the mat, the conversation begins again.

Because you’ve never arrived here quite like this before.

You slept differently.
You ate something different for breakfast.
You had a different conversation.
Something made you laugh. Something irritated you.
Your body has moved through another day of living, breathing, thinking and feeling.

So even when you practise an asana you’ve explored a thousand times before, you have never experienced it with this exact breath, this exact combination of chemistry and sensation, these exact thoughts, feelings and experiences moving through your body.

The pose might be familiar.

But you are not the same.

And so we listen.
We breathe.
We move.
We notice.
We respond.

Not forcing the body into a shape, but allowing the shape to become a conversation between breath and movement, body and mind.

Patañjali begins the Yoga Sutras with:

“Atha yoga anuśāsanam.”

Now, the practice of yoga begins.

Not yesterday.
Not the last time you were on your mat.
Not when you finally feel calm, flexible or “good at yoga.”

Now.

This breath.
This body.
This moment.

And the practice begins anew. Every time.

What would happen if you stopped trying to recreate your last practice, and simply got curious about the conversation that wants to happen today? taken in Henley on Thames by @thisluminouslife

Day 4 @masterseventsltd Transform Trauma 2026

Beautifully started with @prentishemphill sharing such thoughtful practices and amongst so much wisdom, highlighting that we are always practicing something, so what is it that we're practicing, discussions and sessions with @rubywax @drdansiegel and @jack_kornfield, @drscottlyons and then closing the day and the conference with incredible expansive practices with Jack Kornfield, creating space to consider our bodhisattva vows 🤩 An invitation to plant the seeds.

So much to consider, explore, percolate. So much gratitude.

And so grateful to have @nadapriya_yoga_sound_therapies and @katemooreyoga there too this year 🤩

But for now, an episode of The Simpsons with the smalls to ground and extra squidges after 4 very full days 🧡 taken in Oxford by @thisluminouslife

Day 2 at @masterseventsltd Transform Trauma 2026.

A full day with Gabor Mate and Betsy Polatin, exploring unity, and liberation from trauma before an evening poetry walk around Oxford 🤩

And all in the gorgeous company of @katemooreyoga and @nadapriya_yoga_sound_therapies to ponder things over with over lunch 🤩

So much food for thought. Heart and mind expanding experiences.

Every so often the enormity of life hits me all at once and on the bus back to the park and ride this evening it happened. The hugeness of all of these beings going around our little bubbles of existence and the hugeness of it all 🥹🤩✨️🤓🤯🧡 This..Luminous. Life.
