Loud/quiet synths and vocals. Electronic folk? Maybe.

Sitting back down to finish some things up and none of my Ableton files would load. For hours.

Thankfully a full complement of dirty synths and some nice vocals has returned, and the added bonus of some adrenaline soaked dread (new today). by @thisshipargo

Just had a very-fun-to-write piece published in issue 11 of the Journal of Imaginary Research! Abstract 14: "Diminishing Sounds: A longitudinal study of bassoon decline in contemporary orchestras". It was actually inspired by a conversation @miriam.crozier and I had on the Long Drink Party Boat halfway between Helsinki and Tallinn on how the bassoon is an endangered instrument. Whilst imaginary, maybe there's some truth in there? (People who decided *not* to play the bassoon: let me know!)

Anyway, I also decided it would be fun to use the bassoon and some other endangered instruments (and some not) to write a short, very thrown together piece to go with it, titled for the made-up conceptual framework in the abstract.

Up on Soundcloud just, for the craic!

Wednesday! With @vsevolod_plotkin and @muckish666.

Map included in case you don't know where the venue is (spoiler: it's probably a 2 min walk from your bus stop, so no excuse...)

See you there? by @thisshipargo

Last night was so much fun, and marked my first return to playing live in over 2 years! Short and sweet, but celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the wonderful @northernirelandscreen Digital Film Archives at @qftbelfast with so many talented people.

As I said last night, one of my favourite things to do is to put music to film, and archive footage in particular always brings me so much joy as I wonder about the people and their lives, if they even know they're up there on screen, what happened to them after, what they were thinking about... Too many things, really! It was such a delight to be asked to play last night, and I think we're really privileged here to have such a great archive available for our use, and with even more fantastic and helpful staff! 🖤
