Over the years I’ve really tried to hold off on sharing my work with my personal account here. But as my work has consumed more and more of my time, I felt like there was this huge part of me I couldn’t share with my personal community. And to be totally honest, that felt lonely and left me without crucial feedback from the friends I love.

Anyhow, my whole life I’ve dreamed of a system that could visualize stories. I had dreams about it as a kid. When the diffusion models started getting good I ran an opportunity cost assessment on damage/public sentiment around AI versus the unlock the models might provide for human communications. I just couldn’t let go of the possibility that this technology presents an opportunity for anyone from anywhere to share a story in a format that speaks the universal language of visual.

What started as a storyboarding tool for filmmakers during the writers strike has evolved into an interactive storytelling ecosystem in which anyone can build a LORE then serialize it into a World then share it and even make money to support their project.

I’m extremely proud that with no software background, very few resources and 12 hours a day for four years I’ve been able to get this thing off the ground. I know it’s not for everyone. I know ai is a hot topic. But there’s a lot of stories out there in the world that can only make their way across boundaries if they can be seen. So this is that. by @thobes

I started writing during COVID, about realms beyond the threshold of human perception. It completely changed my life in the most magical ways and ultimately led me down the path of starting a whole ass software company helping writers visualize their stories. But the new enterprise also took me away from writing my own stuff. I’ve had this gap in my life since. So this year I’m committing to 12 multimedia deep-dives into unseeable worlds.

Since 1404, The Voynich Manuscript has floated between private collections, libraries, and continents. It has been owned by monks, alchemists and emperors. To this day, the meaning of its 170,00 glyphs are a complete mystery. The Alien Tome is that manuscript’s story.
