Necrophagist - Symbiotic in Theory

This outro solo + riff, what a way to close a 10/10 album. I really like experimenting with economy picking vs alternative picking the tritones in this riff; right now I am definitely in an economy picking mindset for this riff, but I have also played it differently before in the past. Practice is often times about experimenting and interpreting, and Necrophagist’s impeccable riffage makes this process even more fun to dive in and dissect these songs.

Enjoy!

Hello everyone! I’m EXTREMELY stoked to announce that my band DEMIURGE will finally be releasing its first full length on December 19th, entitled “THE ROSES OF HATRED”. This 5 song EP was sculpted meticulously over the last half a year and I am so happy to have you all hear what I’ve been pouring every hour of my day and my soul the last few months into.

I am also very lucky to be borrowing the amazing talents of @lucasnguitar on guitar and @zachtippin1 on bass to help bring this music to life to shows near you. (more info about that to come soon!)

The lead single, “PRAYER” is out now on all streaming services, so spin it at home, in your car, at the gym, wherever your heart desires!

Thank you all for the support and love, and keep your calendars open for December 19th.

Hate Eternal - The Victorious Reign

Man this song is hard LOL. The triplet slides are absolutely brutal, but I tried my best. This record is insane, I adore the guitar work on here. What should I cover next?

Anal Stabwound - A Twitching in the Clouds

Best band name ever? 🤔

Saw these guys back in August at the Northeast Desecration Fest and was blown away, with this song stuck in my head in particular. Love the use of quintuplets and the overall groove of this track, and the bass break in the middle is absolutely menacing. Check em out yall

Putridity - Cannibalistic Postclimax Flesh Consumption

Holy song title. Been running through a lot of Putridity recently to keep the chops up in shape, they cover everything from downpicking, pinches, tremolo picking and broader left hand insanity. This record is amazing, check it out 🙏

The breakdown in this song is so fire 🙏 the whole song is really great for practicing hertas and 32nd notes, really good for getting the right hand in shape. What should I cover next??

Gorgasm - Horrendous Rebirth

Downpicking galore! This song is a really fun one, and a hidden gem off this album imo. Gorgasm’s specialty is pummeling brutality, but I always love their rare melodic moments, they have such striking contrast with their more typical, aggressive “dumb-guy” style of riffing which I love.

Enjoy!

@ulcerateofficial - To See Death Just Once

First post with the new setup! Been having a blast in Valencia, the community here has been so welcoming and orientation has been a lot of fun. Getting back into the shed with another Ulcerate tune with my favorite track off “Cutting the Throat of God”. Probably not 100% accurate, as I’m still working out these alien riffs in GuitarPro and working on the rest of the song for a full transcription at some point. Enjoy!
