Here it is. Meet Wilson - a true inspiration. A man who’s dream of playing rugby was shattered when he broke his neck at training and has been in a wheelchair ever since.

My first time putting the directors hat on tells his story of resilience, positivity and humour.

The brief was to celebrate Wilson’s character. Capture his humour and his light in the Dubbo community, whilst gently highlighting the work Regency Care does to support him. Mostly; showcase person not product. How did we do?

Turtuk - Ladakh, India 2016

Does our desire for exploration and adventure cause more harm than good for communities and settlements that thrived long before our arrival?

The Nubra Valley wiggles and winds its way north towards the border of Pakistan in the far reaches of Northern India. The final destination before the recommended U-turn at the border of India is the humble village of Turtuk.

The Islamic and self-sustaining village rests above the level of the river and could easily be missed given the subtlety of its signage. Having only been open to tourism for two years when I visited in 2016, the influence of western tourism was already disturbingly palpable. Children as young as five descended upon me, hands raised and open, eyes wide and expecting.

As well-intentioned travellers oblige, the question is raised…

OH INDIA | Behind the Image - Episode 2 - Turtuk

Ten years ago I spent 6 months travelling across Northern India with my camera.

The journey became my first major photography project, my first solo exhibition, and eventually my first photo book, has raised over $15,000 for rural Indian education and has forever served as the catalyst for my photography career.

To mark the 10-year anniversary of this series, I’m releasing a collection of framed prints and revisiting the stories behind some of my favourite images from the trip.

10% of all print sales will be donated to Kaikala Chetana, a community run, volunteer based education program I visited in rural West Bengal.

Ladakhi Horse Power - Leh, Ladakh, India 2016

The road to Leh, Ladakh was far from the most comfortable journey I’ve ever embarked upon, but what it lacked in elbow room and tarmac it more than made up for in visual masterpieces for the entirety of the 15 hours from Keylong. As we stopped at one of several passport checkpoints on what can only be described as a dirt track winding its way through the majesty of the Himalayas, these porter horses - carrying goods to meet tourist demands - were ushered off the road and down the ravine to the stream below. As their guide encouraged them enthusiastically, if not brutally, with a rather large and thick stick to the rump, the lead horse became entangled in the guiding wire. Panic ensued as it tried to free itself from the hindrance, creating this scene as its comrades followed calmly and cautiously behind. Thankfully, no horses were injured.

The cat’s finally out of the bag 👀🥊

Super excited to announce that I’ll be making my professional debut on the BIGGEST boxing event in Australia this year. WHAT?!

Tim Tszyu vs Errol Spence - 26th of July.

There was a point where I thought I was done with boxing and was ready to hang up the gloves.

After the Paris Olympics, I continued my journey in the amateurs and had my last amateur fight in Brazil in March last year. I was ready to transition to the professional ranks when I suffered a broken hand. The setback was tough, and for a while I lost hope and thought the passion for the sport might be gone too.

I was forced to stop boxing for a few months and when I was back at the gym, something really clicked. The drive and hunger just came back.

Now, I get to begin the next chapter on one of the biggest stages in Australian boxing! 🤩

It still feels surreal.

Cannot be grateful enough to @nolimit_aus for giving me this opportunity.

Let’s gooooo👊🔥
