#JijaSohn - D3US/X\M4CHIN4 - Fernando Belfiore ‘Deus ex machina’ is most commonly used to refer to an unexpected power that intervenes and saves a seemingly hopeless situation. Choreographer and performance artist Fernando Belfiore uses this notion to explore a poetic that can induce an experience of unimaginable changes. #flam #basisforliveart #liveart #performance #jijasohn #fernandobelfiore #epic #humancondition #theatre #portrait #deusexmachina by @thomaslenden

#HellFun Dionisis Argyropoulos Ioannou and Vita Evangelista Photographing for FLAM performance festival in Amsterdam I got intrigued by the intensity of the performers kissing, even knowing it was on stage and it was part of the performance. Very convincing! #JosefinArnell #MaxGöran #DionisisArgyropoulosIoannou #VitaEvangelista #moodforlove #eternalnight #soapopera #portrait #photoportrait #soapopera #humor #absurdity #desire #sex #gender #language #kiss #intensity #performance #flam #liveart #amsterdam by @thomaslenden

#VerenaHall, Breitner Academie Amsterdam Verena Hall in her cube of drawings. On all four walls a forest of charcoal tree trunks seems to close you in, dark and vivid at the same time. The floor of the cube is covered with a thin layer of water and the reflection shimmer onto the paper and far beyond the woods. #verenahall #amsterdam #breitneracademie #fineart #finearteducation #charcoal #drawing #reflection #shimmer #paper #trees #treetrunk by @thomaslenden

MUST SEE (and LISTEN)! #brechtje #amsterdam #conservatoryofamsterdam #composers #composersfestival #postpop #artrock #punk #vibe #newsound #contemporary #music #jazz #classicalmusic by @thomaslenden

#Geisha'sMiracle Jija Sohn, Yurie Umamoto en Yui Nakagami In Geisha’s Miracle, three Asian performers invite you to experience their universe; shiny and blue, light and white. They take you on a journey to a place in between live and death, a place in between a transformative reality and a fountain of imagination. Geisha’s Miracle is a synesthetic physical experience that reaches out to the perception of the audience. #choreografie #jijasohn #yurieumamoto 3yuinakagami #dansmakersamsterdam #dans #modernedans #performance #art #performanceart by @thomaslenden

Spring is in the air, just about the same time of the year I made this portrait of a young woman. She is one of many children that grew up at the studio complex of Nieuw en Meer near Amsterdam where my studio is. In 1988 (during the final of the European Soccer Championship, won by the Dutch) the area was squatted and is, for many years now, legal home for about one hundred studios for artists and small entrepreneurs. During many years more than 35 children lived here for at least several years. We call them the Children of Nieuw en Meer. In 2013 I made a series of pictures, Else van der Burgt interviewed them. Every spring this image comes to my mind, when flowers and trees are in blossom again. #spring #flowers #KinderenVanNieuwEnMeer #NieuwEnMeer #portrait #portraitphotography #youngwoman by @thomaslenden
