Ultimately, the joy of Easter encapsulates the core belief that through Jesus's resurrection, believers are called to live in triumph, filled with hope for the future and empowered to share that joy with the world around them.

Still basking in the euphoria of a majestic outing at our 36th Choir Anniversary, we continue to lift our hearts in thanksgiving and give all glory to God for His unfailing faithfulness.

In the words of the Gloria from the Sung Eucharist by the late Sam Ojukwu, we proclaim with one voice the praise that belongs to God alone:

“Gloria in excelsis Deo.”

“Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!”

One of the timeless treasures of Christian hymnody, Blessed Assurance was written in 1873 by the renowned hymn writer Fanny Crosby, with music composed by Phoebe Knapp. The hymn was born when Knapp played a melody on the piano and asked Crosby what the tune suggested to her. Instantly, Crosby replied, “Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine,” giving rise to a hymn that has inspired generations of believers with its message of confidence, joy, and hope in Christ.

It was a privilege to accompany this beloved hymn on the magnificent 5-manual Allen Organ at Methodist Trinity Church, Tinubu, alongside the Lagos City Chorale under the distinguished direction of Sir Emeka Nwokedi.

A beautiful reminder that our faith is not founded on uncertainty, but on the blessed assurance of God's unfailing grace.
