Happy Sunday, everyone! Been feeling more than a little overwhelmed lately between work pressures, dealing with the dramas of an (almost) ten year old girl, a horrible virus in the house (thankfully I’ve avoided it so far) and just generally trying - and probably failing - to juggle everything 🤯

After repeated visits to the GP, I saw a new one and within minutes he looked at my notes and realised it was my beta blockers that were causing my heightened allergic reactions. I was taken off them immediately and put on new heart medication and I’m now tentatively experimenting with dairy again. (Incidentally my reaction on Tuesday actually wasn’t linked to dairy at all but, weirdly, Epsom salts in my bath!!!) Anyway, I thought I would put this out there just in case anyone else is struggling with a dairy allergy which manifests in a similar way (people always immediately assume it’s stomach related) A few things I learned - the reaction can be delayed (my symptoms would appear anywhere between 24-72 hours after being exposed to dairy) Lactose free products are no good for this type of allergy (lactose is to do with stomach reactions) and if anyone needs any recs for good dairy free cookies, I’ve tried em all 🤣 #dairyallergy #livingwithallergies by @thoughts_finding_words
