Walter Cruz, @2oceans, is a creator, collaborator and dreamer who seeks to create moments of critical thinking through his artwork and designs. He’s on a mission to pursue his passions and help others achieve their dreams along the way.

Hailing from The Bronx,NY by way of Washington Heights, Walter Cruz is an introspective being interested in synthesizing the intersections between history, design, the built environment, color and texture.

His current body of work that was shown at the “Sovereign Soul” exhibition, ‘From Your Lips, To God’s Ears” is an exploration of how these five elements can cooperate to share meditations on reflections and lessons learned as they inform our futures. Cruz is interested in how web3 can help Black + brown artists’ career in impactful and sustainable ways.

He’d like to take this time to ask folks to follow the hashtag #BlackInUkraine to learn more about what is happening to Black folks in Ukraine inside of an already terrible conflict. Cruz's prayers go out to Somali, Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan and Palestine as well. Be sure to give him a follow and check out more of his incredible work @2oceans. taken in Los Angeles, California by @thpe.nft

Austin Willis @studio.austinwillis (b.1993, California) is a self- taught artist focused on exploring one’s spiritual journey. Using abstraction as the gateway of expression to these intimate moments of questioning and growth in one’s life. This provides a deeper insight in his own battles with anxiety and depression, personal traumas, and the desire to continuously seek understanding. Within his practice there is an exploration of traditional and non-traditional painting materials to help better express these moments he’s looking to reflect. He lives and works in New Jersey. His work was last the subject of a solo show titled "By Any Means, Inward" at the Yard: Herald Square in NYC. His piece featured at our “Sovereign Soul” exhibition, “I'd Like to Walk Around in Your Mind”, is the reflection of the exploration of emotions felt when connecting with another spirit in forms of intimacy. From feelings of joy and excitement to those of fear and cautious as you began to be vulnerable. taken in Los Angeles, California by @thpe.nft

“Life is a dare at how legendary you could be” - @artistshelleybruce

Artist Shelley Bruce is a creative based in Long Beach, with a mission to serve the world’s greatest challenges through spirituality, poetry, painting and community organizing.

In her current project Heaven Here (a studio recorded album and NFT series), She seeks to create an internal, abstracted narrative of emotional depth that mirrors greater world challenges.

She believes through the mediums of transcendent sound healing and experiential art, personal growth, global solutions and courage can be more deeply accessed.

The call to action of Heaven Here requests of the viewer an intimate willingness… to travel directly through one’s emotion and become a transformed individual. This will make available the bravery required to serve a world in dire need of compassionate leadership.

She worked with artist, Michael Tella @tella_man to create the digital artwork for her series.

Michael Tella, is a multi faceted digital and graphic artist. His work is deeply rooted in the visualization and depiction of the narratives we do not witness surrounding off world theories. Art has been a way for him to connect to the universe innately and with a combination of self thought skills he always seek to pass across the message of self elevation and enlightenment through his pieces. He considers himself a very versatile and experimental illustrator ,switching visual direction based on his perspective of life. His work surrounds a wide range of art spectrums drawing inspiration from the world around him and artists before him. Moving beyond the basic narrative of society and embracing the notion of freedom and mindedness is a calling card for his pieces , Michael loves to portray a more transcendent reality with a center in surrealism and an occasional dive into Afro futurism. taken in Los Angeles, California by @thpe.nft

Introducing Lili’uolani @liliuolani a Kanaka Maoli artist and designer who explores the relentless contradictions of a multidimensional identity and how polarity creates the necessary tension to ignite desire and create a (k)new reality. As the daughter of a seamstress and Hawai'ian nationalist, her mother was her first collaborator and creative mentor. From an early age, Lili'uolani has employed technology, textiles, jewelry and found materials as tools to create and venerate her ancestors.

She talked to us about her process,
“Daily automatic writing is a conscious act of discipline necessary to my creative practice and wellbeing. In Those Jeans is a stream of my unfiltered thoughts transcribed onto recycled jeans which are knit together in the shape of an ‘ahu ‘ula—a feathered cloak symbolizing high rank in ancient Hawai’i that provided both physical and spiritual protection to its wearer.

Through the daily and often mundane work of pulling myself apart and weaving her back together, I create a sovereignty that cannot be controlled by any government but myself and I become the authority and protector of my experience.” An incredible piece of work we had the honor to show at our inaugural exhibition, “Sovereign Soul” last month. Stay tuned to see what we’re up to at #NFTLA

Join us in celebrating one of the artists featured in the first @thpe.nft exhibition, “Sovereign Soul”.

Dakarai Akil is a Los Angeles based collage artist, designer, and editorial illustrator from Cleveland, OH. @dk1994 primarily works in collage and design. He has self-published three art books that catalog works created between the span of 2014-2016, 2016-2019, 2019-2021. He has participated in countless group and solo exhibits over the span of 10 years and has had work published in publications such as The New York Times, Wired Magazine, The Atlantic Magazine and several more. Dakarai's collages are small windows into the worlds of black surrealism & afrofuturism. Each piece tells its own story that is entirely up to the viewer to create based on their own observations. When creating these collages Dakarai focuses on color, shape and composition to tell a story or to give the viewer a unique feeling.

Dakarai shares, “I view my work as black surrealism / afrofuturism. The surrealist part comes through in my colorful psychedelic and non traditional depictions of dreams and fantasies of black life uninterrupted. The afrofuturist part comes in through the imagery of where black life sees its place in the future.

I was raised in art. My father was a very versatile artist that taught me how to be creative as early as 4 years old. I’ve taken that into my own direction over the years finding my way as an artist. Web3 is new to me but I see it as a way be have the ability to safely secure and maintain my worth as an artist by taking control of my art in a digital space."

We are so honored to have had the opportunity to showcase Dakarai’s work at the the inaugural #THPE artist exhibition.

Stay tuned for more information on our upcoming shows! We can’t wait to spend more time with our community. #THPEnft #SovereignSoul taken in Hubble Studio by @thpe.nft
