While We WaitHuge thank you to @cypherculture_ & @dancehouse.melb for having Threading Frames be a part of ‘new new’. We first began building this work in 2025 during our residency at @ausdancetheatre so to have the opportunity to bring a section to life and perform in Naarm was amazing.Within this work we were playing with blending dialogue, storytelling, movement & dreamscape imagery and allowed our experience in creating films to influence all of this.Thank you to those who reached out to share your experience of this work. Four - Week 1 Choreographer - Tyler and Fale Fale and Tyler are dance artists and makers who collaborate through Threading Frames, a collective working at the intersection of dance, theatre, film and storytelling. Their practice is grounded in an exploration of the human condition, creating immersive worlds where dance can exist beyond conventional rules of time and space. They are curious about the continual negotiation of who we are and who we are becoming, exploring how thoughts, memories, desires, fears, relationships, and environments continually shape and reveal different facets of our identity. Their work is deeply relational, shaped by the people in the room, the conversations shared and the trust created over time. Tyler has collaborated with artists and companies including Luke Murphy (Attic Projects), Michael Keegan-Dolan (Teaċ Daṁsa), Marina Abramović, Ta’alili, Footnote New Zealand Dance, and New Zealand Dance Company. Fale’s background in breaking, krump, and contemporary dance has led him to collaborate with companies such as Ta’alili, Chunky Move, Footnote New Zealand Dance, and New Zealand Dance Company.They are the recipients of the Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi Springboard Award and their work has been presented at festivals and venues including Cinedans FEST, Auckland Arts Festival, Tempo Dance Festival, Pacific Dance Festival, Dancehouse, Schrit_tmacher Festival, and Cineverse International Film Festival.To Apply to be in Tyler and Fale’s work: please fill out the application in our Bio.Week 1: 31st of August - 4th of SeptemberFee: $200 Application ends on the 31st of July 12amPhoto Credit: Nam Chops by @threadingframes
