An honour to be able to celebrate @twoterracesvineyard in Tāmaki this week with ~75 of our trade and media friends! 13 wineries banded together to show off what this special vineyard can do - and while the soil & site are great, it’s Ian and Linda’s hard work and spirit that we were really there to celebrate. Still a total pinch-me situation for us that we get to work with this fruit and crew!!

Holly (& the bump) was busy manning the front door so Papa G @gordonrussell.wine stepped in to pour for us - an easy job he reckons as the wines are looking so good 🌟

Big shout out to @onslow.nz for their hospitality and extreme snack game!

We’ve been keeping a secret… last year we had the opportunity to make a wine with one of our heroes!

Introducing the Three Fates x Jenny Dobson Sauvignon Blanc! From a limestoney hillside in Raukawa managed by our pals Amy & Olly.

There’s not enough space on an IG caption to give credit to the Jenny Dobson story - do yourself a favour and give that one a goog. A kickass highlight includes being the first female cellarmaster in Bordeaux in the 80s! Alongside her consulting and winemaking work making half the wines in Hawke’s Bay, she also has her own boutique label @winebyjennydobson with beautiful wines that tell a story.

Anyway, she’s been a mentor to us since the early TF days when we visited her in the winery and racked her brain for opinions on Cabernet Franc (a shared passion). Since then, she’s become a friend always willing to lend an ear and an opinion. She also has an uncanny habit of appearing on site on our bottling days - our good luck charm.

So when the opportunity to make a wine with Jenny came up, there was no hesitation! We looked to her time in Bordeaux for inspiration; wanting texture, depth, herbs and ripe fruit. She lead the way and we’re all incredibly proud of what we made.

🫧🍷In early 2025, in the office of an unnamed winery out on the stony flats of the Heretaunga Plains, a top-secret Three Fates meeting took place. Our host insisted the tasting glasses be immaculate. They weren’t. With a quiet shake of her head, she reached for something that stopped us in our tracks: a winery-branded tea towel, softened by decades of loyal service, polishing glasses since the mid-’80s.

A look flickered between the Three Fates girls. We knew, without speaking, that we wouldn’t rest until we had one of our own.
