This Memorial Day weekend and today especially is different this year.
My Dad isn’t here physically with us.
Our family Memorial Day weekend has always been the start of summer - getting the grill out - planning a nice cookout menu and looking forward to celebrating our loved ones and all those that served in the military. Both of my Grandfather’s served in WW1. My Dad served in WW2 and Korea. We have always talked about our relatives on this day and always enjoyed watching PBS for the Celebration program of all our Veterans. 🇺🇸

We did everything this year but we didn’t have my dad sitting with us. Is it different (?) - yes, very. All I can share is hug everyone in your life for as long as you can no matter the day.
Because every day with those you love is a celebration. 🇺🇸🙏🏻 ❤️ Love you Daddy.

I am crushed. My friend for years. I worked with him in the 2000’s. We spent hours at Gulf Shores songwriter festivals - hours in writing rooms networking and in early years - so much wonderful time doing reach out work for NSAI.
SO many stories I could never tell them all.
Sang the best version of the song he wrote
“ Rose in Paradise” I’ve ever heard. Used to predict l was gonna request “ Someday”
so he always put it in sets during writer rounds:).
I’m gonna miss you friend - but all your songs will live on forever. 😢 by @threesixtyspin
