Finally finished!!!

I love the overarching story, worldbuilding, politics, and themes, especially the parallels to genocides present in our real world. Penn created something ambitious and important, and I'll always appreciate that. The last few chapters finally brought me the emotion, heartbreak, and payoff I'd been hoping for throughout the entire book. While this wasn't the 5 star finale I wanted after such a long wait, it gave me enough closure to walk away satisfied 🔥

My favorite thing is all the amazing people I've met through series! I wouldn't even be on bookstagram if it weren't for Penn and the Penn Pals~ I hope Penn gets a much needed break and can't wait to see what story she has for us next 💗

Trying to truly keep myself engaged in what's happening in the world but it is so exhausting and at this point I feel like this is what they want...

I've found reading about similar situations, albeit fantasy/scifi, helps me mentally prepare for certain things that have happened in the past or are anticipated to happen in the future. It shouldn't be a manual for what to do if/when these people take over... but in some ways it does spark some artificial hope that can carry over to real life and because of that I am so grateful to these authors and the stories they write!

Book featured here is the August SF&F book from @thebrokennbinding The Infinite State and I really hope I can get to it soon 💜

Had a great time with Threshing Day by @rebeccayarros 🙂‍↕️ It's everything I want in a novella and doesn't "spoil" the series as a whole, just a fun little addition so we can be reunited with our fictional friends while we wait for Book 4. I loved getting into the heads of the different riders, loved seeing how their signets maybe had manifested. I am curious about all the blood shedding prior to bonding, that has to be a key part to the bond! Or maybe what initially is needed for a signet to start brewing. I don't know but I love it and love how these little drops and tidbits will further the theorizing online!

My favorite chapters were: Imogen, Garrick, and Sloane 💗

I can't wait to listen to the Graphic Audio as well, I think it will be a lot of fun as well

Another day another bookish event! I got to meet @helenscheuerer and @bynicoleplatania at @therippedbodice last Friday for the Helen's tour stop for her new book Kiss of The Black Flame!

Thank you for visiting us all the way from NZ and teaching us how to say your last name 🤣 I had a blast learning about your writing process and hope to see you out here again in the future!

I work during Nicole's event there on the 1st so Im glad I got to see you here!! 💗

Thank you both for signing my library bag as well 🫶 Until we meet again!!

I got to meet the Queen once again on the final leg of her tour! CHECK OUT HER AMAZING SPARKLY BAG TOK AAAAGH! The only reason I even have a bookstagram is because of encouragement from @authorpenncole discord! 🔥

I'm such a slow reader and still only half way through Burn so I am so happy everyone respected a spoiler free zone when yapping while we waited in lines!

I had a great time, I truly love these events just to hear the authors talk about their processes. We also got to listen to Heidi Cole McAdams, showrunner for the Hulu adaptation and now I'm even more excited for that! 😍

I took some video clips as well so maybe will gradually share those~ i dont know if they fully appear if I just put them in the post... halp!

Loved seeing @theonewhoridesdragons as well! Always a treat! Am I gonna see you on Friday too?!

THANK YOU @vromansbookstore for hosting the event~ Everything was so organized and smooth!

I had such a good time with the 2026 July Adult @fairyloot pick The Winged Game 🪽 However, for such a fun and dynamic story and location I was a little disappointed with the aesthetic... a single feather? WHAAAT?! THIS IS A FANTASY SPORTS ROMANCE with a MYSTERY... there was so much that could have been done!

Also, this was basically Taissa's story and she's not even on the back of the hardcover? It's Kion?! What are we doiiiing?!

ANYWAY! Story is a blast and book was pretty enough but phew!

I went to see @alexbracken at @bnhuntingtonbeach last week and had so much fun! It was a bit of a drive to get down there but I always enjoy events learning about the writing process and little tid bits! Alex was such a gem and @laurenokieauthor was so funny too! Definitely some new books I want to check out now!

Also everyone was so cute in their whimsy floral dresses, I wish I thought of that!!

Anywhere, absolutely can't wait for book 2 and cannot believe Alex had to rewrite this one, it was so goooood!!×,*$*÷*$

Just another super cute edition from @fairyloot 💗 This pretty pink version is from the July 2026 Cosy Box "(Mostly) Human Resources".

Pink is my favorite color so I'm always so giddy when a pink version of anything comes out!

Wasn't lucky enough to get an ARC from my fav @authorpenncole BUT Target was a real one and this baby arrived to my mailroom last night! Burn of The Everflame (Luther's Version)! A few days early 😍

Gonna take a wee break from my arc of Shadow and Son to start this now, especially since I'll be seeing Penn in a couple weeks!

Also, happy national read a book day and what a book to start with!!
