As part of tomorrow's #TADLFilmFestival we are excited to screen Small Wonders from @bfinetworkfhse

A warm, family-friendly shorts programme bringing together playful animation and gentle sci-fi with stories of kindness, imagination and care for our world

In a woodland glade, an exhausted mythical creature is suffering from insomnia. When a small, verbose forest sprite appears and offers a sedative.

The Man Who Was Given The Biggest Home | Dir. Fiona Podha
A young boy brings a chessboard to a local park and ends up playing with someone whose sadness he begins to notice over time.

Traces | Dir. Matilda Wallace @tillanimates

Producer/director Anna Snowball's Iranian Yellow Pages will be screening this Saturday at Through A Different Lens Film Festival!

Speaking about the film, Anna says it's "the culmination of years and years of obsession with a newspaper. In 2016 my husband (and co-producer/ editor) and I discovered this fascinating Farsi-language newspaper in an Iranian restaurant in West London. The free ads at the back of the paper were so intriguing, capturing the full spectrum of human experience. We began calling up some of the advertisers to discover their stories."

In the film we discover the people behind these adverts; OAPs partying at a lunch club, a lady washing cars, a puppeteer doing shows in the library, many lonely hearts.

Among these is Reza, trying to make his new life in London a success, who places an advert in an eccentric newspaper and discovers the Iranian community hidden in plain sight.

We can't wait to screen this and many other short films this weekend! You can still get tickets via the link in our bio
