Still celebrating my sweet baby, Zanya. 🥹🤍 My little trooper.
Fun fact: We almost didn’t have birthday photos this year because life has been so incredibly busy.

The only window I had was 1:00 a.m. on a Saturday, and without hesitation, Zanya said, “Yes, Mommy!” 🥹

I had planned to do a whole princess theme shoot, but we scrapped the dress and decided to keep it simple because of the tightness of life lately.

She was exhausted, and honestly, I would’ve completely understood if she wanted to skip it. Her big brother was fast asleep, but she stayed up, smiled through it all, and gave me the sweetest session because she really wanted her birthday pictures.

That’s just who she is - resilient, patient, and always willing.
Zanya, you are so much stronger than you know. You are kind, gentle, thoughtful, sweet, and simply incredible.

Watching you grow into the girl you are becoming is one of the greatest privileges of my life.

A huge thank you to every Aunty, uncle, friend, and family member who celebrated our girl. Thank you for every birthday wish, every thoughtful gift, every prayer, every hug, and for making her birthday picnic so incredibly beautiful.

You made our little girl feel deeply loved, and that means more to us than words can express.
Our hearts are so full. Happy 6th, our sweet Zanya. We love you endlessly. 💕✨

P/S: My boss looked at Zanya last week and said she could see how she’d look at 14/16 and with these photos, I couldn’t agree more.🥹💕

What do you think about our decision to keep Zanya’s 6th birthday shoot simple?

I think it is simple, yet timeless.

Glad we captured this season of Zanya’s life as we’ve always done yearly.

They grow up so quickly. She’ll definitely not look this way next year 🥹

Thank you everyone once again for celebrating my little trooper!🥹💕🙏🏾 by @throughonyieslens

Zanya @ 6!!! 🥹💕

My baby. My princess. My answered prayer. Today you are SIX, and my heart is overflowing with gratitude to God for the incredible gift that you are.

Zanya, you are strong yet so tender-hearted. Sweet, independent, kind, loving, and simply so easy to love.
Half the things you say at home, I don’t think anyone would believe came from your mouth because you’re so reserved around people you don’t know well. You may seem shy, but I’m your mom, so I just laugh because I know the little firecracker you truly are! You have the funniest personality and the sweetest heart.

Your due date was July 29 - our wedding anniversary. Yet, in true Zanya fashion, you decided to come on your own terms. Not on Grandpa’s birthday on the 25th. Not on our anniversary on the 29th. You chose to be a Sunday baby - July 26... (today is Sunday too, so this year’s birthday is extra special for that.) And after just one push, there you were. 🤍

Being your mom has been one of the greatest joys of my life. You’ve made motherhood so beautiful because you are such a joy to raise. Dad, Zitel, and I are incredibly blessed that God chose us to be your family.

My prayer for you is that the Lord will continue to keep you, cause His face to shine upon you, fill your life with His peace, and help you become everything He created you to be. I love watching you grow in your love for Jesus, and I still smile every time you remind Zitel, “The Bible says obey your parents!” 😂

May your light never dim. May your purpose never be hindered. May your blessings overflow, and may your destiny never be truncated. You are made for signs and wonders, my best girl.

Happy 6th Birthday, our sweet Zaza. We love you more than words could ever express. Here’s to another year of laughter, adventures, answered prayers, and watching God write your beautiful story.

Forever our Sunday baby. 🤍✨ by @throughonyieslens

Giddy up cowgirl! Did someone say it’s kids day at the stampede today?🤠 by @throughonyieslens

My favourite thing about kids’ portraits is the memories created from the chaos behind the scenes- always worth it. This session was no different. by @throughonyieslens

Planned to post these jpgs yesterday for Father’s Day l, but oh well… we all know I’m bad at posting😩🙈

Happy Father’s Day (belated) to all the great dads in the house!🙌🏽 by @throughonyieslens

Spring has always felt personal to me.
Maybe that’s because my birthday falls in a season where everything that looked dead begins to bloom again.
Every year, I watch the long, painful Alberta winter slowly give way to warmth, colour, life, and hope. The trees blossom, the sun lingers a little longer, and the world seems to exhale. This year, standing beneath these cherry blossoms, I realized that’s exactly what has been happening in me too.
This season isn’t just another birthday. It’s a season of becoming.
A season of healing mentally.
A season of evolving into the woman God created me to be.
A season when I can truly feel that my mom is sooooo proud looking down at the woman I have become.
A season of purpose, contentment, love, and peace.
For so long, survival was enough. But today, I am experiencing something that feels like blooming. The kind of bloom that comes after deep pruning. The kind that comes after tears, hard conversations, faith, therapy, growth, and choosing to keep going.
I’m in my “loving being a woman” era.
My pink era. 💕
My heart is so full.
I love people so much it makes me emotional. I love loving on people. And one of God’s sweetest gifts to me has been being loved back. Though I’m an only child, He has surrounded me with incredible sisters, beautiful friendships, and a sisterhood that reminds me daily that I was never meant to walk alone.
Most of all, I’ve learned to love the woman I am becoming.
Thank you, Jesus, for healing my mind.
Thank you for renewed purpose.
Thank you for joy that feels genuine.
Thank you for teaching me that bloom seasons are possible after the harshest winters.
Here’s to another year of growing, becoming, and blooming. 🌸💕
