I decided to release ‘The Realest Thing’ now because it feels like a late august song with waves of nostalgia and innocence in a ‘boys of summer’ Don Henley meets The Sandlot kinda way-

the smell of chlorine from the pool as you get into your hot car with your towel laid out, windows down / cranking goo goo dolls ‘iris’ to max volume , shaking sand from your swimsuit and loving the salty beach hair that you wish you could recreate every morning, wanting to stay tan year round and not worry about sun spots ugh….

Healthy doses of vitamin D, loving unconditionally the long hot languid days and submerging in whatever water is nearby, box fans, crickets, fireworks, watermelon & strawberries, sneaking into the town pool to go skinny dipping, the luxury of boredom, drinking gin n tonics and laughing with friends, late nights making out in the house party kitchen when everyone else is sleeping, summer flings n dancing til dawn, hoping that you can stretch these moments a bit longer before the seasons change and everyone goes home and back to school. That’s how the realest thing feels to me.

Big love to my longtime collaborator, Mr. Billy “The Leg” Lefler @thunderdog1972 for helping me make this song a real thing / can’t wait to share the other tunes we worked on and make a thousand more songs with you!

Big love to @saralindsaymusic for giving it the perfect lift it needed with your incredible vocals!

Big Mix/Mastering love to the goats @ghosthitrecording / @andrew_oedel and @nadarecording

Big love to @aaherne for capturing the album art photo / man I love it so much, sorry about your chair!

And big love to you for listening. I’m incredibly grateful for your attention and support. Enjoy the rest of your summer and go stream “The Realest Thing” !!

With gratitude, in music.

My EP “Like You Like” with @theslipstreammusic comes out tomorroooow (or tonight if you live on the east coast!) Co-writing these 5 songs with @thunderdog1972 was a big gigantic thrill for me and my ever evolving songwriting journey. Hope you guys love em as much as we do and can’t wait to make a million more. Making music is the great love of my life so thanks for all your kind words and support and not judging me for how strange I am (you don’t right??) (RIGHT?!!!) :) love you, mean it 💕

Every Which Direction has been out for a week.

Thanks for all the love and encouragement, friends. We’re stoked with this little project!

For some intriguing and confusing reason, the robot overlords have made it tricky to promote it, so if everyone reading this could help us get the word out, we appreciate it!

Live session video on the way soon x

The debut record “Every Which Direction” is here.

What started as a fun side project and an exercise in being less precious has now become one of my favourite pieces to-date. Funny how that works.

The whole EP is an act of letting go. Holding onto what matters and releasing the rest. It’s deep and a little dancey. It’s sad but it feels good. It’s the clarity on the other side of the haze, where we all find ourselves eventually. Even if we forget it sometimes.

Thank you @theslipstreammusic for your support, @thunderdog1972 for jump-starting the sound and being the best creative partner (and accidental bandmate), @saralindsaymusic for being way too talented and kind and singing on a bunch of it, @lawrence_k_katz for creating the opportunity and @tazmattar for your mastering skills.

To anyone listening, it means a lot. Enjoy. Hopefully this is just the beginning.

Resin8 On The Record

It has been about a week since our placement in episode eight of the second season of @paradiseonhulu. We are ELATED with how positively “Another Day In Paradise”, from @joynerband and @thunderdog1972, has been received on Shazam! This reimagined, dark and broody cover of the hit @officialphilcollins song has not only hit 150,000 Shazams in only one week, it has also been climbing the charts! It hit #21 on the US Shazam charts and #91 on the Global Shazam charts! It is nice to hear this song in this season but also twice in the first season as well! Thank you to everyone who was involved in this placement, especially everyone over at @hulu, @disneyplus, and @concordmusicpub! We can’t wait to see how these numbers grow over the next few weeks!
