❤️‍🔥 Read more for the Mental, Physical, and Spiritual Benefits of Fasting:

👉 Brain (Mental) Benefits:
	1.	Increases Neuroplasticity:
	•	When you practice self-denial, your brain adapts by strengthening the prefrontal cortex (the area responsible for self-control, decision-making, and focus). This can improve willpower and discipline over time.
	2.	Boosts Dopamine Sensitivity:
	•	When you constantly indulge in pleasures (like sugar, social media, or entertainment), your brain becomes desensitized to dopamine, leading to cravings and lower motivation. Denying yourself resets dopamine levels, making you more sensitive to joy from simple things and reducing addictive behaviors.
	3.	Enhances Cognitive Function:
	•	Fasting and self-discipline have been shown to increase brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a protein that supports memory, learning, and neurogenesis (the growth of new neurons). This can help protect against neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.

👉 Physical Benefits:
	1.	Improves Metabolism & Longevity:
	•	Fasting activates autophagy, a process where the body cleans out damaged cells and regenerates healthier ones. This can slow aging and improve overall health.
	2.	Reduces Stress & Improves Emotional Regulation:
	•	Strengthening the brain’s self-control center reduces impulsivity and helps manage stress better. Over time, this can lower cortisol (the stress hormone), improving heart health and immune function.
	3.	Increases Energy & Mental Clarity:
	•	Fasting can increase mitochondrial efficiency, meaning your body produces energy more effectively. This results in higher energy levels, better focus, and mental sharpness.

👉 Spiritual & Psychological Effects:
	•	Christian traditions emphasize fasting and self-denial as a way to gain mental clarity, strengthen discipline, and deepen your connection with God. Modern science supports that fasting reduces anxiety and promotes inner peace.

🙏 By regularly practicing self-denial in small ways—whether through fasting, avoiding distractions, or resisting temptations—you train your brain and body to become stronger, more resilient, and healthier overall.

The Church here on earth is NOT a community of saints. The Church is a hospital for sinners.

I understand that some people respond well to tough love, but I also believe that not every situation calls for harsh rebukes or strict correction.

More often than not, the most effective way to lead others away from sin is by being a living example: showing and teaching through our actions and fervent prayers.

Many people walk away from the faith not because of God, but because their understanding of faith has been distorted by how they were treated by those who claimed to represent it.

When people are ignorant of Christianity, they often judge the entire faith based on the actions of the “Judas” figures rather than those who truly reflect the love of Jesus and follow Him with all their strength.

We must also strive to be patient with others, with ourselves, with our leaders, with our children, with our parents… because the truth is, we are all in this journey of transformation together. We are all flawed and in need of God’s grace to transform us. This is why we are called to forgiveness (just like as we pray in every “Our Father” prayer) because when we learn to forgive, we learn to love in the way God desires for us to.

““Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭37‬-‭38‬ ‭NRSV-CI‬‬

“Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye? Or how can you say to your neighbor, ‘Friend, let me take out the speck in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor’s eye.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭41‬-‭42‬ ‭NRSV-CI‬‬

On October 5 we honor St. Faustina Kowalska (1905–1938), the humble Polish nun who became the Apostle of Divine Mercy and one of the prophetic witnesses to the coming Illumination of Conscience, often called The Warning.
“Jesus, I trust in You.”

📅 Feast Day: October 5
🙏 Patronage: Apostles of Divine Mercy, World Youth Day, and the Divine Mercy devotion

Owner rights: @flameoflove.us (the official Flame of Love movement)

The Great Warning movie is available at queenofpeacemedia.com for only $10

In her diary Divine Mercy in My Soul, Jesus revealed to her that a great light would pierce every soul, allowing each person to see themselves as God sees them… a moment of both mercy and purification before the day of justice. This revelation is one of the earliest and clearest testimonies to what many mystics have since described as the universal examination of conscience.

Through St. Faustina, Jesus gave the Church the Divine Mercy Chaplet, the Image of Divine Mercy, and the mission to proclaim: “No soul is too far gone for My mercy.”

Let her message from Jesus pierce your heart:
“Before the day of justice, I am sending the day of mercy.”

🕊 Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3 p.m. today and pray with faith:
Jesus, I trust in You.

The Early Life of St. Francis Looked Nothing Like Sainthood ⤵️

📅 Feast Day: October 4
🕯️ Lived: 1181/1182–1226
📍 Location: Assisi, Italy
🙏 Patronage: Animals, ecology, merchants, Italy, and those seeking a simpler life centered on Christ

St. Francis of Assisi is one of the most well-known Catholic saints in history, but his life did not begin with poverty and humility.

Giovanni di Pietro di Bernardone (1182 – 1226), called Francesco by his family but better known to the rest of us as St. Francis, was born in Assisi, Italy.

As a young man, Francis loved parties, fine clothes, praise, and dreams of becoming a famous knight. But after war, imprisonment, illness, and a deep conversion, the things he once chased began to lose their hold on him.

Francis gave up his wealth, served the poor, embraced radical poverty, and founded the Franciscan movement.

He wanted his whole life to imitate Jesus Christ as closely as possible.

His love for God also changed the way he saw creation. Francis preached to birds, called creatures his brothers and sisters, and became closely associated with animals and care for creation. He saw the beauty of creation as something that should point the heart back to the Creator.

Then in 1224 at La Verna, Francis received the stigmata, the wounds of Christ, in his hands, feet, and side. The man who once chased worldly glory had surrendered everything to Jesus, and his own body became a sign of the Cross.

His life reminds us that no past is too worldly, wasted, or broken for God to transform.

St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us. ❤️‍🔥

🔁 Share this so more people who feel ashamed of their past can see what God did with St. Francis. Someone may believe they have gone too far, wasted too many years, or become too attached to the world to ever become holy. His story shows that surrender to Christ can completely change the direction of a life.

The spiritual battle around the priesthood is more real than most Catholics ever stop to think about.

Catholic priests stand at the altar, absolve sins in Confession, preach the Gospel, and bring the Eucharist to the faithful. That sacred responsibility also makes prayer for priests deeply important. Instead of letting scandal, disappointment, or frustration harden your heart, intercede for their holiness, perseverance, protection, and fidelity to Christ.

You Have a Guardian Angel. Don’t Forget Him. 👼⤵️

📅 Feast Day: October 2
⛪ Memorial of the Holy Guardian Angels
📖 Matthew 18:10 | Psalm 91:11
🙏 Patronage: Protection, guidance, children, travelers, and help in spiritual danger

Every October 2, the Catholic Church celebrates the Holy Guardian Angels, reminding us that angels are not symbols or childhood stories. God gives His angels a real mission to guard us, guide us, and help lead us toward Heaven.

Jesus said:
→ “Their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.” (Matthew 18:10)

The saints constantly reminded Catholics to call upon their Guardian Angels:
→ “When you are in trouble, don’t forget your Guardian Angel. He is your companion, your defender, your best friend. Call on him often.” — St. Pio of Pietrelcina

→ “Beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd, leading him to life.” — St. Basil the Great

→ “Make yourself familiar with the angels, and behold them frequently in spirit; for without being seen, they are present with you.” — St. Francis de Sales

→ “When tempted, invoke your Angel. He is more eager to help you than you are to be helped.” — St. John Bosco

→ “Always remember that you are in the presence of your Guardian Angel. Never do in his presence what you would not dare to do before me.” — St. Bernard of Clairvaux

Your Guardian Angel is with you in temptation, danger, suffering, and prayer, always pointing you toward Jesus Christ.

Don’t forget him. Thank God for him. Ask for his help today. 👼🙏

Have you prayed to your Guardian Angel today?

🔁 Repost this so more Catholics remember that Guardian Angels are real and that God has not left us to walk toward Heaven alone.

This is why St. Thérèse and her Little Way will change your life… ⤵️

🌹 St. Thérèse of Lisieux 🌹
📅 Feast Day: October 1

Born in 1873 and called home to God in 1897 at only 24 years old, St. Thérèse is one of the most beloved saints in the Church. We celebrate her feast on October 1st.

Known as “The Little Flower,” she became a Doctor of the Church not because of great travels or heroic deeds but because of her “Little Way.” She showed us that holiness is found in small acts of love offered to God.

She is the patroness of missions, florists, and the sick, even though she never left her convent walls. Her hidden life of prayer and sacrifice became a testimony that God’s grace transforms the ordinary into extraordinary.

Examples of her Little Way:
→ Smiling at someone who annoyed her for love of Jesus.
→ Picking up a pin from the floor and offering it to God.
→ Accepting sickness and suffering patiently as a hidden gift.
→ Writing letters of encouragement filled with trust in God’s mercy.

Her life reminds us that sanctity is not about doing big things. It is about doing small things with great love. 🌸

She Did Nothing the World Would Call “Great.” Then She Became a Doctor of the Church… ⤵️

📅 Feast Day: October 1
🕯️ Lived: 1873–1897
📍 Location: Alençon and Lisieux, France
🙏 Patronage: Missions, missionaries, and France

Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, also known as the Little Flower and St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus, became one of the most beloved Catholic saints in the world even though she lived a hidden life inside a Carmelite convent.

She entered Carmel at only 15 years old and died of tuberculosis at just 24. She never traveled to the missions, preached to large crowds, or accomplished anything the world would consider impressive.

Instead, Thérèse discovered what she called her “Little Way”: becoming holy through complete trust in God, spiritual childhood, and doing the smallest ordinary things with great love.

Her spirituality became so important that Pope St. John Paul II proclaimed her a Doctor of the Church in 1997. Today, she is one of only four women to hold this title, alongside St. Teresa of Ávila, St. Catherine of Siena, and St. Hildegard of Bingen.

Why?

Because the Church recognized that her teaching gives Christians a deep and trustworthy understanding of the Gospel, especially God’s mercy, confidence in His grace, and the truth that love is at the heart of the Church.

Her writings, especially Story of a Soul, showed millions that sainthood is not reserved for people who do extraordinary things.

You can become a saint right where God has placed you, through the hidden sacrifices, small acts of love, forgiveness, patience, and faithfulness that nobody else sees.

The Little Way is simple, but it can lead you all the way to Heaven. 🌹

The Saint Who Helped Give the Church the Latin Bible… ⤵️

📅 Feast Day: September 30
🕯️ Lived: 347–420 AD
📍 Location: Stridon, Rome, Antioch, and Bethlehem
🙏 Patronage: Biblical scholars, translators, librarians, students, and archaeologists

St. Jerome is one of the four great Doctors of the Western Church and one of the greatest Scripture scholars in Christian history.

He studied Greek and Hebrew deeply and, with the encouragement of Pope St. Damasus I, began revising the Latin Gospels. Later in Bethlehem, he translated much of the Old Testament directly from Hebrew. His revisions and translations became the foundation of what came to be known as the Latin Vulgate, which shaped Western Christianity for centuries.

But Jerome did not study Scripture only to become knowledgeable. He wanted to know Christ.
→ “Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ.”

He spent the final decades of his life in Bethlehem, studying, translating, writing commentaries, defending the faith, teaching, and praying near the place of Christ’s birth.

St. Jerome reminds us that deep love for the Bible is deeply Catholic. Scripture, read within the faith of the Church, draws us closer to Jesus and helps us know the truth He revealed.

Maybe his feast day is the reminder we need to open our Bible again. ❤️‍🔥

St. Jerome, pray for us.

“Judge the Catholic Church not by those who barely live by its spirit, but by the example of those who live closest to it.”
— Blessed Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen

The people who wounded you are not the standard of the faith they failed to live...

The Catholic Church has endured scandal, weakness, and human failure because its foundation is Jesus Christ, not flawless people. Look beyond hypocrisy and you’ll find centuries of Catholic saints whose lives were radically changed by grace.
