I don’t quite know how this summer happened…. Yet it did. Getting ready to snip off the dead heads, save a bunch of seed, rip it all out and feed it to the chickens and put the garden to bed. What a whirlwind of a summer! Can’t wait for next season ✨

We may have aged 10x this last year but we did it. It’s finally done(ish). Posting this more as a landmark than anything because finishing it and opening for the season means our year+ of pushing to finish three projects (cottage, house and Airstream) is complete. The closet walls still need wallpaper but we’ll get there. More photos and video to come.

Juuuust classic Leann today — cramming 10 gallons of errands into a 5 gallon bucket 🤪I didn’t even bring snacks because “I knew I’d be home in time for lunch” 🫣 It can feel impossible to find clean snacks the kids actually like! But today we were able to find clean #GoMacro bars and @alexandrefamilyfarm chocolate milk!!

And yes, we still served them at the Christmas Party.

Turns out that chocolate covered peanut butter balls don’t taste much like peanut butter when you don’t add enough peanut butter. They were melted by the end of the night.

We got this free tree the other day.

Jesus said that He goes to prepare a place for us and when I think about how hard it is to make ends meet right now, I remember that He covers us and provides for us and has a home waiting for us.

Sweet gifts of free things down here are gentle reminders that he cares for our every need. He even cares about shade in 30 years when this tree gets big enough to provide that for us. All we have to do is water and care for it.

Thanks @goodbloketreecare for the hook up and for being willing to take the extra steps to save this beauty for us.

14 years ago I married my best friend. I know I know it sounds like a movie but it’s real.

We were broke as a joke when we got married and have put money into everything other than jewelry the past 14 years: houses, cars, school, ministry, travel, etc.

But she really is special, and she really needed to know that.

I tricked her into getting her ring resized in May and simultaneously made a mold of her ring so we could make wedding bands that would match the very specific Art Deco ring I gave her that was from my Great Great Aunt Belle. The ring originated in France and was given to my Nana, who passed it to me.

I’ve been holding onto these bands for 3 months and it has been KILLING ME not to give them to her. But I finally got to. At our wedding venue, with our kids in tow. How special?!

I love surprises, but she is so observant it’s hard to pull it off!

Love you Leann. I’d marry you over and over again. Best decision of my life after following Jesus ;).
