(Almost) every Sunday, I hop on YouTube for 1-2 hours to draw/paint something live. Today we finished up this fun moose illustration. 🫎

If you’d like to watch, I’ve got a growing playlist called Draw n Chat Live Streams or join me live on Sundays. Hit the notification bell to be alerted because I can’t always start at the same time.

It’s a lot of me rambling about travel and hitting the “undo” button 😆 but it has been a great excuse to make some personal work, experiment, talk about my books, and get out of my comfort zone.

Hope to see you there! I’m happy to answer questions about art, publishing, and van life in the live chat.

The best kind of email is one from a reader!

Isla sent me the sweetest message along with some pages from her nature diary inspired by Diary of a Nature Nerd. I was blown away.

Isla and I went on to chat about her brilliant naming convention for animals which is based on observed behavior or characteristics. Oak Star got her name because she was eating star-shaped oak leaves. Moss Horn had fuzzy mossy horns. And Pixie’s tail looked sparkly. Isla has inspired me to get more creative when I’m nicknaming animals.

Also, I had no idea that gray foxes are great tree-climbers. Great fun fact! I love how observing an animal in the wild often leads to research and discovery.

It is so touching to hear from readers and parents who have enjoyed Brooke and Jayla’s first adventure!

Thank you so much for reaching out, Isla!!

100 years of curiosity, wonder, and advocacy for our planet. Happy birthday, Sir David Attenborough. by @tiffanyeverettstudio

I just love that even though we are miles and kilometres apart, Tiffany and I both went into the woods to celebrate our beautiful book’s birthday! I hope you will find a way to check it out. We are so proud of it! Thanks to Barb McNally at @sleepingbearpress for her guidance and my awesome agent @natalie_lakosil at @lookingglasslit for her steady support even when my publishing marshmallows fall into the campfire ;) Can’t wait to see reviews for this sweet story about overcoming our fears and having fun even when some terrible things happen 🤣🦟👀#kidlit #camping #campinglife by @tiffanyeverettstudio

Today is a very exciting book birthday! CAMPING IS A TERRIBLE IDEA by @kirstenpendreigh and illustrated by me, @tiffanyeverettstudio is officially out in the world!

I had SO much fun making the art for this story. It was kind of a dream project because I happen to think..

Camping is the BEST idea!

It’s true that camping can be unpredictable and sometimes it’s not so fun, like when the bugs won’t leave you alone or when the weather turns. In fact, I am writing this as we are driving away from an otherwise perfect campsite because of an incoming storm.

However! If you let the chance of some discomfort keep you from going camping at all, you could be missing out on some real magic: beautiful views, the peaceful sounds of nature, the chance of spotting wildlife in their habitat, cozy campfires, and star-filled skies.

But will our main character, Cammie find a way to love camping too?

You’ll have to read to find out!

And if you pick up a copy, let me know! I would love to see.

I’ve loved seeing everyone’s cute kid pictures! Thanks Mom for dragging out the photo tub for me! by @tiffanyeverettstudio

I’ve been sitting on some super exciting news… I am working on a series of chapter books!

The Bestie Book follows three best friends, Tally, Fia, and Skye who get split up, two zoned to different middle schools, and one moving an hour away. They come up with a plan to stay close: mail a diary back and forth. One at a time, they will take turns writing entries, updating each other on everything: school drama, crushes, embarrassing stories, and all the stuff that’s too big or too weird for a text.

As the girls grow and change, so does their friendship. But the diary, and the awkward, honest, and hilarious moments they share in it, keeps them tethered. Even when life pulls them in different directions, the diary reminds them that even if they aren’t in the same school, they’re all on the same page.

HUGE thank you to @jpeskin74 for this opportunity! And another to my kick-butt agent, Nicole @the_t2_agency ❤️❤️❤️
