POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Ive learnt so much about my painting language this year, it has been my main focus, more than applying to all the many open submission shows, I’ve held back as I have wanted to develop my direction as an abstract landscape painter in 2026 -

Ascend The Escarpment 91x91cm dreaming of an exhibition to share my Path collection from this year (also inlove with this track by @si_bonobo 🙌 ) keeping the faith in painting hours x

Some of my river memories I refer to for this 100x100cm I’m working on, it was probably finished last week but I’m still layering it in hope to capture the romance of where Sky falls into river a timeless wonder that symbolizes an innocence of natures cycle, where rain turns into rivers and meets the sea, along the riverbanks , myths and memories have been formed, and sharing a poem that has captured what I am trying to paint, it was on the front page of a book I connected with in the summer while I was painting along the river Cele, perfect timing .
From clouds above, a droplet small,
I start my fall, embracing all.
Down, down I race, a tiny tear,
To quench the earth, to banish fear.
I join my kin, a gentle stream,
A trickling path, a watery dream.
We gather strength, through fields we glide,
With newfound power, side by side.
The stream becomes a river wide,
A surging force, with currents inside.
We rush and roar, a liquid might,
Reflecting sun, then moonlit night.
Through valleys deep, past mountains grand,
We flow along, across the land.
To meet the ocean, vast and blue,
Then rise as vapor, fresh and new.
So rain to river, cycle’s art,
A timeless journey, heart to heart. .

October means hunkering down into studio hours - I had a very productive Saturday with some paintings i had been struggling with, composition that yesterday transitioned into a better head space for me. Focus is back and shutting out the noise . It felt good to be back in my painting shell x
