Another state tournament in the books. Mikaila won the Young Adult Bowhunters Freestyle and Maddie took fourth in Adult Female Freestyle.
Time to put the indoor rigs away and get back to 3D. See you all in Alabama.

Congratulations to my wife on her first deer.
A week ago I was shocked when she said she wanted to go out for opening weekend. A couple of hours at the range with the new rifle I had just built and she was set.
Ten and half hours later of watching birds and the occasional squirrel, she looks up at me a said “Well, I guess we’re getting skunked”. I knew there were only fifteen minutes left but knew those were the magic minutes. With five minutes left until shooting time this guy decides to present himsel at 150yrds. Of course we were seated in the wrong postiions in the tree stand and had to quickly shuffle everything. There was nothing to brace her shot, he was too far out to shoot off the rail and she had small window to shoot bettwo trees. She got comfortable and asked “can I shoot”. I had to quickly lean out off the rail and plug my ears as this whole thing was happening in an awkward position. With three minutes till shooting time, I said go ahead. She touched off on the trigger and he dropped right there.
After much celebration in the stand we climbed down and headed for her deer. She had no idea it was a Buck as she was just excited to get a shot and harvest her first deer. As we got closer I looked at her and said “we’ll now you can look at his rack”. That’s when her excitement went into overdrive.
Another memory that I thought I’d never see. Well done honey!

I almost forgot… she has now claimed that rifle as her own. Lol by @tight.lite
