Tonight is our final Saturday performance of ’Liberty Mountain’! Normally we have a matinee show AND an evening show on Saturdays, but not today. First the matinee was cancelled because of the Mountaineer Days event in King’s Mountain. Then the event was cancelled due to weather, so come on down and celebrate the 250th with us tonight! Here are some pictures of our pre-show flintlock demonstration. We talk about the weapons, how they work, how they were used, and we attempt to shoot them off. They are very sensitive to humidity and weather, but 60% of the time, it works EVERY TIME. (Historians don’t come for me, I know it averages 1 out of every 4 shots are misfires, but I can’t make an Anchorman reference with that)

Last Friday, the cast of ‘Liberty Mountain’ 2026 filmed two segments for the projection aspects of our show! First, the traditional Bloody Bill scene and a new second scene depicting part of the Battle of Kings Mountain itself! Spent a few more days last week helping out with tech at Land of Oz! I helped build these two corn walls, moved 30-something hay bales, and ended the week by getting recruited as a Winkie Guard for opening day! Last 4th of July, Ferguson’s Loyalist Militia put on an event at Cowpens Battlefield a little different from our usual one. We dramatically read excerpts from ‘Common Sense’ by Thomas Paine in a semi-conversational format. This might’ve been the most difficult thing I’ve ever tried to memorize, since it is both philosophical in nature and not intended to be performed.
