Helping kids stay safe, healthy and happy 💛
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Throwback to our time in Jordan 🇯🇴

Classrooms, trainings, questions, conversations and a lot of listening.

From teacher trainings to SEL assessments and Arabic-translated workbooks, we spent time understanding what educators really need and how SEL can show up meaningfully in their classrooms.

When tools are local, practical, and designed with teachers, they’re more likely to stay.

Grateful for the conversations, the feedback, and the warmth we received 💙 by @tilliforkids

So much of what holds a classroom together comes down to the teacher.
The small, constant acts of noticing and adjusting that nobody sees, but everybody feels.

A curriculum comes alive in the hands of a teacher who knows what to do when a child melts down mid-lesson. That skill has to be built. Hence, before any Tilli lesson reaches a child, we start with the teachers. We train them, practise together, and work through the hard questions. Once a teacher feels sure, the rest falls into place.

These are a few glimpses of that work, with teachers across India. Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Bhubaneswar, and Pune.

Thinking about this for your school teachers? Let’s talk. by @tilliforkids

Children carry a lot more than we realise.

The friend who wouldn’t talk, the test felt too hard, the joy of something small that no adult noticed, a picnic they are too excited about. A journal gives them time to look inside, see what they feel, form thoughts, put them in words or a drawing and let it out on a paper.
When a child writes or draws what they felt today, a vague, heavy feeling becomes something they can understand and name. They build self-awareness, emotional vocabulary, and a confidence that comes from understanding themselves.

Sitting with a pen and a notebook for some time at the end of the day is one of the simplest habits a parent or teacher can start to help a child build it early, and you give them a tool they’ll carry for life.

Big feelings flood the brain and crowd out everything else

Emotion regulation is the skill to manage and recover from big feelings, which tend to show up in different ways. Before a child starts working on a challenge, they should be able to settle themselves enough to begin with the right mindset.

Tilli builds and measures emotion regulation and 11 other foundational skills. Let’s talk! by @tilliforkids

When a child can focus, regulate, and relate, they not only behave better but also think better.🌱

Principal Jayasundara at Leeds International School, Mattugama, saw it in her classrooms:
"The introduction of Tilli activities to the Primary Section has been highly beneficial in fostering students' creativity, independent thinking, and systematic learning."

Thank you, Principal Jayasundara, and the whole team at @leeds_international_school, Mattugama. 💛 by @tilliforkids

At an airport, at 1am, a stranger walked up to our founder. 💛

"Are you the founder of Tilli?"

His little one is a fan. What followed was a long, happy conversation with a bright seven-year-old, all about his school, his friends, everything he's learning.

For a company turning five today, that was the best gift we could have asked for.

We started in 2019 as a game-based app. Then the research on screen time made us stop and rethink everything. So we moved off the tablet and into the classroom, where kids learn together, out loud.

Then we started measuring what no report card ever shows. The skills underneath the marks. With a teacher, a parent, and the child all weighing in, you finally see the whole picture.

Same goal as day one. Help children feel more aware, more confident, more themselves.

To every teacher, parent, school, and partner who grew up alongside us, thank you!

Happy 5th Birthday, Tilli. 🌱 by @tilliforkids

A child who can name “anger or "disgust" can tell an adult what's wrong. A child who can't act it out instead gets labelled as a “behaviour problem”

The first step to managing an emotion is naming it.
This little exercise works in a classroom before a lesson or at home before bed. This way children learn emotions the way they learn everything else - through play!

We love it when we see a child express their emotions and thoughts freely.

𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐀𝐬𝐤, 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞. This is the core of Tilli, and Musaeus College, Colombo 07 is experiencing all three.

Measure: They started by using Tilli Measures to really see how their primary students were doing, beyond what grades could ever show.

Ask: Then we sat down together for an in-person data share-out, reading the dashboard and talking through it with AskTilli, our AI teaching assistant.

Intervene: And now they are using the Tilli curriculum to gently build and hone the skills that data pointed to.

Some of the activities go home with them, and they keep thinking and drawing and naming things at their own pace, in their own time.

Do you want your classrooms to look like this? DM us; we would love to talk!

"The most meaningful aspect of Tilli is that it helps us look beyond marks and see the child more holistically."

For as long as schools have existed, we have measured children by what they can put on a test. It is the easiest thing to count. So it becomes the thing we treat as the truth about a child.

But a mark tells you almost nothing about whether a seven-year-old can calm herself down, work through a disagreement, or keep going when something gets hard.

When a school leader starts asking to see more than the marks, the children grow.

Thank you, Ms Pavithra, for putting it better than we could have. 💛 by @tilliforkids

At Nita Mukesh Ambani Junior School, as part of a Research Practice Partnership with Stanford University, we looked at data across 200+ students from UKG to Grade 2 and measured 12 foundational skills, from emotion regulation to attention.
For every child, we asked three people who have the most influence on a child’s life while growing up: a parent, a teacher and the child themselves.

Then teachers sat with that data and asked the questions that actually matter:

- Why do parents and teachers disagree about the same child's attention?

- Why do children who struggle with emotion regulation in the classroom perform well when assessed directly on that exact skill?

- Do our hunches match what the data shows?

That's what it looks like when a school stops describing children and starts understanding them taken in Nita Mukesh Ambani Junior School by @tilliforkids
