The fifth TIME//FORM Japan 2026 session features @joenoraa

joe nora is a Los Angeles-based music producer whose fluid, texture-rich sound moves through instrumental hip-hop, downtempo, and experimental electronic music.

joe first crossed paths with TIME//FORM founder @wavegroove during the post-pandemic resurgence of the Los Angeles beat scene. Their friendship grew through playing numerous shows together, including the Coachella Turndown, and Pacific Drift marked their second tour of Japan together.

Recorded in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo during Pacific Drift 2026, this session documents joe’s sound and where he was creatively at that moment.

joe’s latest single, “Shima,” is a collaboration with Japanese producer and friend Tommy Beats, released through Friends of Friends.

The fourth TIME//FORM Japan 2026 session features @rhynemusic

Rhyne is a Los Angeles beatmaker and music producer whose work moves freely between beat music and electronic experimentation. His sound is wide-ranging, distinctive, and unmistakably his own.

Rhyne first crossed paths with TIME//FORM founder wave Groove around 2017 through the Los Angeles beat scene. Since then, their friendship and creative paths have extended across four consecutive tours of Japan.

Recorded in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo during the Pacific Drift 2026 tour, this session documents Rhyne’s sound and where he was creatively at that moment.

Yourself in Peace is a musician, singer-songwriter, and music producer from Los Angeles. His connection with TIME//FORM founder wave Groove reaches back to their high school years, with music remaining part of their shared history ever since.

Recorded in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo during the Pacific Drift 2026 tour, this session captures Yourself in Peace through his own selections, production, and perspective at this moment in his creative journey.

The second TIME//FORM Japan 2026 session features @m_boogs.

m_boogs is an MC, singer, DJ, and music producer known for his work with the underground music collective Beat Cinema, as well as his involvement with Deeper Manila.

m_boogs first met TIME//FORM founder @wavegroove 12 years ago during their early days with Beat Cinema. Their friendship and musical paths have continued to grow together ever since.

This past May, m_boogs joined Pacific Drift 2026 for his third tour in Japan. Recorded in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, this session documents his artistry at that moment while preserving a piece of their shared history.

The next five TIME//FORM episodes were recorded in Japan during our tour this past May.

I built this project alongside a growing interest in video recording and editing. What began as a creative experiment became a way to capture our memories from the short time we spent there—the places, the movement, and the feeling of being together in Japan.

My set opens the five-part TIME//FORM Japan 2026 series and goes live today with more videos arriving throughout the month.

I’m wave Groove, a musician based in Los Angeles, active in the underground beat scene since 2012, and the lead production manager of Beat Cinema.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to be surrounded by artists whose music exists far beyond a single night, venue, or moment. I created TIME//FORM as a way to document some of those moments.

It isn’t quite a music video series, and it isn’t simply a recorded DJ set.

Each TIME//FORM session follows one artist through a single continuous set, captured across different locations, environments, and points in time, then edited together as one complete piece.

The idea is to create something that can live beyond the original performance—a document of an artist, their selections, and where they were creatively at that moment.

With TIME//FORM, I want to create recordings that people can return to years from now in the same way they return to old mixtapes: not just to hear the music again, but to remember a particular time, place, and feeling.
