The next five TIME//FORM episodes were recorded in Japan during our tour this past May.

I built this project alongside a growing interest in video recording and editing. What began as a creative experiment became a way to capture our memories from the short time we spent there—the places, the movement, and the feeling of being together in Japan.

My set opens the five-part TIME//FORM Japan 2026 series and goes live today with more videos arriving throughout the month.

I’m wave Groove, a musician based in Los Angeles, active in the underground beat scene since 2012, and the lead production manager of Beat Cinema.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to be surrounded by artists whose music exists far beyond a single night, venue, or moment. I created TIME//FORM as a way to document some of those moments.

It isn’t quite a music video series, and it isn’t simply a recorded DJ set.

Each TIME//FORM session follows one artist through a single continuous set, captured across different locations, environments, and points in time, then edited together as one complete piece.

The idea is to create something that can live beyond the original performance—a document of an artist, their selections, and where they were creatively at that moment.

With TIME//FORM, I want to create recordings that people can return to years from now in the same way they return to old mixtapes: not just to hear the music again, but to remember a particular time, place, and feeling.

Last month’s First Friday was hella amazing; we dropped a limited edition beer/seltzer collab with @radiantbeerco & had the selectors from the Inland Empire crew take over. This Friday, 9/4/26 from 6-???, we got some really amazing artists traveling from out of state & within CA to be with US in the OC 🙌🏼

This past Friday, we kicked it at Radiant Brewery for another show. Good times with friends, music, and a few moments I caught on camera.

The song playing is “No Rush (Wait),” a new house track I finished right before the gig yesterday. It’s the next single from my upcoming project.

More on that soon, but the project is coming together as a mix of beats + uptempo tunes by @wavegroove

2026 thus far - It’s been quite the journey going out from the home base to Coachella, then to Japan at the same time balancing the day job. Much love and shoutouts to the family and friends for the support.

I’ve already started writing new music since February and I’ll share more details in due time. This track is called Arise. by @wavegroove

These are the current controller boards Ive use live for the past shows this year and last year. I use this controller combination with my iPad (that runs Algoriddm DJ) to do live stem separation while beat matching. These boards give me extra creative control while keeping the audio running throughout the set.
