— complete with its original box and price-tag sticker.
Powered by the manual-wind M22 movement.
Manufactured in 1958 (9A58) and originally sold at the historic
Kaufman-Straus Department Store in Louisville, Kentucky.

Released online only in the U.S. on April Fool’s Day in 2019, this rare model sold out within hours.
It was difficult to obtain from Japan, and I had been looking for one for years.
Today, I received a pair from a friend — the men’s 40mm and women’s 34mm versions.
The “25” on the dial and the case-back message — “What would you do with extra time?” — make this one of the wittiest TIMEX watches ever made.

2019年のエイプリルフールにオンラインのみ、米国限定で突如発売され、短時間で完売した幻のTIMEX。
当時、日本からは入手することが難しく、長年探していたモデルです。

✨ The 13th installment of my Begin magazine series, “Emotional TIMEX Stories — Exploring Future Vintage Watches,” is out now.

This time, I explore the new TIMEX 1976 Rotary Phone Dial Reissue.

Inspired by a distinctive TIMEX design from the 1970s, its dial features numerals set inside circular markers — a detail reminiscent of an old rotary telephone dial.
Alongside the new reissue, the article features several vintage TIMEX watches from my personal collection, including models from 1974, 1975 and 1976.
It’s interesting to see how varied TIMEX designs were during this era — from quartz and electric movements to hand-wound watches.

The November 2026 issue of Begin (@begin_monogram) is available now at bookstores across Japan. 📖

今回は、TIMEXの新作「1976 Rotary Phone Dial Reissue」をご紹介しています。
1970年代のTIMEXに見られた、丸で囲まれた数字が並ぶ個性的なダイヤルを復刻したモデル。どこか昔の黒電話のダイヤルを思わせるユニークなデザインです。

誌面では新作とあわせて、1974年、1975年、1976年の私物のヴィンテージTIMEXも掲載しています。クォーツ、電磁テンプ、手巻きと、同じ時代に異なるムーブメントが混在していた1970年代のTIMEXの面白さもご覧いただければと思います。
