This is probably going to be a long one

I had slept over in Ibadan because I came for an orphanage Christmas party from Abeokuta and we finished late.

I woke up the next day and it's DECEMBER 25, 2017 , at one point in the morning , I go on Instagram and I see a notification on the DM. Sister Biodun had dropped a message ( Seun was involved in a car crash, we lost him), still one of the saddest thing I have read till date. I close it and I'm trying to make myself believe I'm dreaming, in the middle of that I'm getting messages from people , I remember @carsfromnaija reaching out , I finally saw a post on instablog and that's when it dawned on me that my best friend and brother is gone. To think I still saw him about 9 days before the crash after some years . That day was my longest trip from Ibadan to Abeokuta. Got home drained , broke the news to my sister in tears ( we all grew up together) enough of the sad stuff 😊

Fast forward to 4 years after. I decided to do one of the most spontaneous things I have ever done . Days after Christmas, I kept feeling the urge to do something in his honour. I have always felt it but this time it was strong. I started plans and I wasn't going to let anything stop me. Decided to use proceeds of the month from my business @timibracelets to fund it because we had less than 5 days to plan and because I had put out what I was doing with the money, couple people bought more Bracelets than they initially wanted to buy , some even donated towards the cause which I am super grateful for. By this time , it had become a WE thing😊, did some shopping which my mum also helped with.
Mum and some friends helped with the cooking , reached out to more friends for proper logistics and disbursement.

On the 1st of January we did a thing.we gave out 45 packs of food and drinks.

And because it was in honour of Daniel, I decided to go with a theme , not the usual orphanage and street food drive. We made traffic wardens and petrol attendants our target because he was a proper petrol head. 😊

Also because we wanted to make them feel good.

Definitely one of the longest edit ever. 3 hours plus 🥹

I loved every bit of it tho, put a twist to the trend and weaved it around some of the things I love.

The world is not safe for women and young girls.
We all know it. We just don’t talk about it enough.

My sister and her friend did in their book - Safe to Tell.

Safe to Tell is a thoughtful and empowering illustrated story that helps children(boys and girls) aged 6–12 understand the importance of speaking up, seeking help from trusted adults, and protecting themselves and others.

With Safe to Tell, the authors touched on abuse beyond what we know it to be — to ensure that children are equipped with the right information to protect themselves from abuse in any form, and that adults understand the importance of looking out for the children around them.

WALKED A 10km race Today

Signed up for @abeokutaroadrace when I saw @iyanuoluwa_dele post about it; thought it was a good opportunity to get back into my walking routine that I had stopped about 3 months ago

But the hills mehn; crazy
I have done over 10km a couple times but this particular one felt like more . Cheers to more medals
