Celebrating our first birthday trifecta đŸŽ‰đŸ„łđŸŽ
My bday 10th (turned 39)
Arlo bday 11th (tured 1)
Bodhi bday 12th (turned 4)

Universe definitely conspired in our fav to have a 3 day bday festival, plus mamma @sammi_jane_ being super fertile in Jan đŸ€Ł

Actually so good to have all our bdays one after the other just a full immersive celebration.

This past year has been a pretty internally wild ride for me, lots of deep shifts personally and professionally, and took quite a bit of time off work to just be with our family.

Celebrating my two wild, sensitive, adventurous and loving boys! Truly blessed to have them.

Spent most our time outside at the beach, waterfalls and gardens. Bodhis fav music atm is Yawanawa (after meeting them at Colibri and in his dreams) so we have that pumping in the speakers most days.

These past few days have been super nourishing for the soul as well and stoked my dad could fly over for all our bdays

Fatherhood is the best, this past year prob the most challenging but also the most rewarding. The love is surreal and forever expanding IFYKYK

Grateful to my wife @sammi_jane_ for birthing these two incredible boys, deeply grateful for all that you do for us all.

Truly winning,
Blessed life. by @timmorrison__

We talk a lot about how trauma shapes us.
How it affects our brain, our body, our nervous system. The bracing, the armouring, all of it.

But what we don’t talk about enough is how safety shapes us too.

Our nervous system learns through experience. It learned to brace because at some point bracing kept us safe. And it can learn something new the same way.

A big part of what we do with the breath is teaching clients to resource themselves: finding their own felt sense of safety and coming back to it when things get intense. Over time, this helps widen their window of tolerance, so they can feel more without tipping into overwhelm or shutdown. The wider that window, the more life you can be present for.

And when they connect to that safety in the altered state, it’s happening in real time. Not just thinking “I’m safe”, but feeling it in the body, right in the middle of activation. That’s a new experience for the nervous system, one where it can begin to learn what safety feels like.

It’s not just about emotional release. It’s about learning how to come back into safety.

This is what we teach our students inside breathwork training

Healing isn’t always about the release

It’s not about how much you let go
it’s about how deeply you can stay

The goal isn’t to keep purging your emotions

It’s to build the capacity within your system
to meet them with presence,
to hold what’s rising without collapse,
without overwhelm,
without being swept away or overrun.

That’s the real work

Not chasing relief,
but expanding your ability to be with what’s here,
fully,
honestly,
and without abandoning yourself

This is the difference between temporary relief... and true transformation

Anyone can guide the breath
Holding what it opens is the real work

It’s actually very simple to move someone into an altered state

Change the rhythm of breathing, deep, fast, continuous.. and the body will respond.

Physiology shifts
CO₂ levels change
Brainwave activity shifts
The body mobilises energy

The state shifts

But the real work begins when the body and psyche opens with it

When emotion rises
When the body begins to tremor
When stored survival responses start to release
When incomplete responses begin to complete
When the armouring loosens

At that point, you’re no longer just guiding breath

You’re working with the nervous system
You’re working with the body
With energy
You’re working with a human process that’s unfolding in the moment

And that takes skill

It takes training
Practice
Devotion
Consistency
And the willingness to do your own inner work so you can stay steady while someone else meets the edge of themselves

Because real facilitation isn’t about just inducing a state

It’s about knowing how to hold and guide what emerges inside it,
in a contained way
In a way that supports and connects
Rather than disconnects

If you feel called to facilitate breathwork at this level of depth, comment ONLINE and I’ll send you the details about next Level 1 Breathwork facilitator training by @timmorrison__

The deeper I go into this work, the more I realise this

(And remember the spiritual ego is a hard one to notice)

Most facilitators spend years trying to master techniques

and very little time mastering themselves
And this is where the real gold is

Because one of the hardest parts of facilitation isn’t just learning the breath pattern,
or the pacing,
or the somatic cues

It’s your inner landscape
Your nervous system
Your relationship with your own shadow
Your willingness to be honest about what you avoid

People think leadership is about having more tools
But real leadership is about having more capacity
Capacity to feel
Capacity to stay present
Capacity to not turn away when someone meets a truth that scares them

This work will expose the parts of you that still want control,
the parts that want to be liked,
the parts that want to stay comfortable,
the parts that believe “knowing more” equals “being more”

It doesn’t
Not in this work

In breathwork and any kind of deep transformational facilitation work,
you don’t lead with your knowledge
you lead with your own embodiment

People feel the places where you’ve done your work

and the places you haven’t
They feel your steadiness
They feel your avoidance
They feel your edges

And the truth is this
your clients will never go deeper than you’re willing to go yourself

So if you’re called to facilitate
or you already are
let your practice be the ongoing work of meeting your own depths
Because every layer you integrate in yourself
is a layer you can safely hold in someone else

Facilitation is not a performance or pretending to be a certain way
It’s a responsibility
A devotion
A continual returning to places in you that are asking to be met

And the more of yourself you can hold,
the more of others you can hold

That’s the real path of leadership in this work

This is exactly why our Level 1 focuses on your personal work alongside your professional development
The techniques can be taught
The depth has to be lived and cultivated

If I had to start over as a facilitator, here’s some things I’d do differently from the start đŸ‘‡đŸŒ

I’d stop chasing breakthroughs and start cultivating safety. (At the start I thought the bigger the better)

At the beginning, I wasn’t learning about the breath from people,
I was learning from the breath and the plants

That was my foundation
education through experience

But if I could do it again,
I’d bring in mentorship sooner.
To refine my gifts,
to help me see my blind spots and BS that slowed me down

A good mentor collapses time,
calling from decades of experience and personal mastery they help you see yourself clearly
Especially when you’re too close to your own patterns to notice

I’d still apprentice to the mystery and unknown
but I’d also learn the map
so I could hold both the wildness and the structure
the spirit and the science
Facilitation is an art form

I’d study trauma and the nervous system before I ever tried to take someone deep
Because real transformation (that ends up embodied) isn’t how far they go
it’s how safely they return,
And how well they integrate

It’s easy to take someone into a cathartic state with the breath.
But true facilitation is what happens after everything opens up..

How well can you hold space?
Can you navigate the waters, complete cycles and guide them through the integration?
Supporting a safe return to their body?

I’d build capacity before chasing mastery
Because the work is only as strong as the body that carries it..

Foundational practices are key
Root down

The sound, the setting, the language are all beautiful, all supportive.
But without presence,
Without doing our own inner work,
they’re empty

AND remember, the medicine is the breath
And it always knows the way

If you’re ready to become a powerful, embodied facilitator that leads with integrity

Whenever the body engages its survival response and can’t come into completion,
Or even just a stressful situation where perhaps your body just continually braced..
the nervous system holds that charge,
encoding it into the brain, the fascia, and the body’s memory.

That incomplete activation shows up later as tension, restriction, or automatic defense patterns that keep looping long after the event has passed.

Our body’s innate way of protecting itself

In breathwork facilitation our role is to create the conditions where the body feels safe enough to do it itself.

Through vibration, breath, access points, and precision pacing, we help the system re-engage its natural oscillations
the subtle movements that restore flow where there was contraction.
When that happens, you might see spontaneous tremors, gestures, micro-movements, or waves of emotion.

This is the body completing an interrupted cycle that was frozen in time

This is the deeper layer of trauma-informed facilitation:
tracking capacity,
titrating activation,
ensuring the client’s system doesn’t re-enter overwhelm.
and guiding our client to remember what safety feels like in motion.

No force,
Organic expressions and releases
And just the body remembering how to trust and come back home to itself

We dive deep into this in our upcoming training (October)

Survival mode doesn’t always look like panic

Sometimes it looks like thisđŸ‘‡đŸŒ

1. You’re exhausted, but struggle to truly rest.
Even when nothing is happening, your body still feels like it needs to be “on.”

2. You’re always checking people’s moods.
You walk into a room and immediately sense who’s upset, tense or unhappy.

3. Small things trigger big reactions.
A mess. A noise. A comment. A text. All of a sudden your reaction feels way bigger than the situation

4. You find it hard to be spontaneous.
You like knowing what’s coming, having a plan and staying in control and uncertainty can feel surprisingly uncomfortable

5. You overthink what you said or did.
Replaying conversations. Reading into messages. Wondering if someone is upset with you.

6. You struggle when things are going well.
Instead of relaxing into it, part of you is waiting for something to go wrong.

7. You find it difficult to ask for help.
You’re much more comfortable handling everything yourself.

8. You have trouble knowing what you actually need.
You’ve become so focused on getting through the day that your own signals get drowned out.

9. You’re easily startled or constantly scanning your environment.
Your attention naturally goes toward potential problems, threats or changes around you.

10. You don’t realise how overwhelmed you are until you crash.
You keep pushing through
until your body finally forces you to stop.

None of these automatically mean you’re traumatised or “dysregulated.”

But they can be clues that your system has been dealing with more stress, pressure or perceived threat than it was designed to carry for long periods.

Sometimes the body learns to live in protection so well

that protection starts to feel like normal life.

And the first step isn’t forcing yourself to calm down.

It’s learning to recognise what’s actually happening beneath the surface and developing the capacity to meet it with awareness, safety and choice.

And if you’re feeling called to go deeper into this work, not just for yourself, but to learn how to safely guide others through breathwork and somatic experiences
