Congratulations to @tinahossain on her well-deserved honor last night from the @possefoundation and its @posselaalumni . Tina is the first-ever recipient of the Business Mogul of the Year Award, and I couldn’t be prouder.

For the past six years, you’ve helped shape Next Shift Learning in ways that are hard to put into words. What started as a side hustle with one client has grown into a company that has worked with more than 20 clients, built a team of four, and collaborates with an incredible network of people across the globe. Through every stage of that growth, you’ve been the force pushing us to think bigger about what’s possible.

But what makes me proudest is everything behind those milestones.

From being undocumented to becoming the first in your family to realize so many dreams, I’ve had the privilege of watching you build a life and career with an incredible amount of determination and purpose. Building a small business and raising a family alongside you has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life that has pushed me to grow in ways I never could have imagined.

Entrepreneurship is not easy. That’s a post for another day. What has carried us through is a deep conviction in what we do, who we serve, and why the work matters. We are honored to work alongside an incredibly talented and dedicated team that continues to believe in what we’re building.

There’s something especially meaningful about this recognition coming from Posse. Thank you to the alumni who saw Tina’s brilliance and potential to build and lead with purpose. Posse recognized this when she was 17, supported her as she pursued her MBA, and are now recognizing the leader and entrepreneur she has become.

Tina, I’m so proud of you: Of what you’ve built, how you lead, and the purpose you bring to all of it.

This is my first Mother’s Day as a mother of two. Meet Noor Amaya Rosas, born April 17th.

Two whole humans I got to bring into the world. Watching Rumi and Noor find each other has been one of the most tender things I’ve ever witnessed. It has also been hard in ways I didn’t see coming. Some postpartum complications landed me back in the hospital not long after she was born, and I’m still finding my way back to full health. By the grace of God, I’m getting there, and I get to celebrate this day with both of my kids in my arms.

Even as a more seasoned mom who is a lot more chill, the early days are still humbling. There is no version of this that is easy.

Birthing my babies introduced me to a version of myself I would not have met otherwise. One that is a constant work in progress, and somehow also the best of me.

I am so grateful. For @sergerosas , who I get to build a deeper partnership with through every season of life. For the community of women and mama friends who have inspired me, nurtured me, and reminded me of who I am and what I’m capable of. For my own mother and mother-in-law who are shelters in the rain and exemplary pillars of motherhood.

I am completely in awe of women. All that we bear. All that we carry. All that we grow into.

I am thrilled to announce that we have been accepted into the @pledge.la and @grid110 Founders Fund! 🚀 This incredible opportunity empowers us to redirect our energy towards the strategic expansion of our business, product exploration, and learn from an inspiring and talented community. As co-founder alongside @sergerosas, we appreciate the chance to take a step back to see the bigger picture to advance our mission at @nextshiftlearning. We’re doubling down on our commitment to upskilling an equitable workforce.

Building such a young and rapidly expanding business has been my favorite (and hardest) professional chapter and helped me grow personally as a leader and parent. I am grateful that @pledge.la and @grid110 chose to invest in our business and in Serge and I as leaders. I cannot wait to share our progress with our friends and supporters! 🎊

7 months into this wild ride with our Rumi! He’s such a resilient and happy baby. ❤️👶🏽 This kid thrived through Covid, croup, and bumps like a champ. He’s big into chicken and mashed potatoes, spinning on his belly like a bad break dancer, and babbling and shrieking so loud we can’t think. The only things bigger than his personality these days are his 💩.

Through an otherwise tough few months, he’s been the light (and yes, on some days the stressor). Scroll right his 6 and 5 month pics we never posted as IG delinquents 🙃 taken in West Hills by @tinahossain

When your parents take your 4 month pics days before you turn 5 months so you look big as hell for your age lol This little nugget loved the #islandboy life in Hawaii this month. He got to 💩 on multiple planes, lick Hawaiian papaya, and get accidentally toasted during beach naps. Roo’s third month brought his first giggles and the ability to grasp handfuls of what’s remaining of my hair. He’s a big yapper and babbler without a filter, just like his mama. For now we cherish his good night time sleep even while our watch begins for the dreaded Four Month Sleep Regression. Have mercy on us!

He’s growing at an astonishing pace. Any new onesie quickly becomes an off the shoulder 80s lewk! The last pic in the reel is my sweet boy at three months in the belly with his first pair of kicks - his Chucks, like a true LA native. Happy new year to all and a happy 2 months to Rumi! He celebrated NYE by poppin’ (milk) bottles for the party in his crib. The last month has been a whirlwind, celebrating several December birthdays for his dad, mom, sibling (Luna), and Jesus (Christmas). He still hasn’t crawled but he’s moving far and fast. He did three weekend road trips to Santa Barbara, Palm Springs, and San Diego. So far he’s got a thirst for travel like mom and dad. Other notable milestones: Blow out poops up to his neck, teaching himself to fart without help, and apologizing for spit up with a toothless gummy smile. taken in West Hills by @tinahossain

Happy birthday to my new co-parent and forever partner in crime! This year, I’ve loved watching you step into your power as an entrepreneur and now a dad. Soon, Rumi can join me in rolling his eyes at your dad jokes. I love seeing you father Roo and am grateful for all the big and small ways you step up as my equal partner. Roo is a mini you and I couldn’t be more pleased that he takes after the best of us. May this 35th year bring you wisdom, health, love, and patience to put up with my shit, my jaan.
