Tin cast Bellbird skull from repurposed op shop cup

Pewter made before the 70's was a poisonous lead alloy, these days its made of high purity tin which has a very low melting point! It was melted on the stove while a found bird skull was pressed into wild clay. The resulting mold was used to pour a positive cast of bees wax from the bush, set with plaster paris in a toilet roll. A lost-wax method was then used to bake the plaster mold evaporating any wax out, heating it to a suitable temperature for receiving the pour of molten tin.

A somewhat sketchy wax positive lead to lots of cold-working needed for the tin skull, but I'm so stoked with my first try

The skull was found from a sadly perished roadkill Bellbird in Newcastle CBD on a lovely stroll with @wolfejessie

5 in 1 Landfill speaker
I wired an 18V ryobi battery into a mini amplifier board, and screwed them into a speaker from the tip. It has bluetooth and aux, a CD player, radio and cassette tape reader.
Most of the parts were second hand or found
like the iPod classic from a box of kerbside trash
The subwoofer at the end was made out of a wine barrel

Allowed to feel and act on joy, awe and fascination, letting energy out

We're engaging with each other through play nearly every day, almost all of the time - but when my boy goes into a flow state like this, excited, creative, happy and enjoying/preferring his own company, I let him be there safely

Each instance of that is a building block for how he'll feel with himself

That was an insane storm before we went out in it! Lightning every few seconds for about an hour! We just cranked the heater on in the car and were warm and dry in minutes taken in Canberra ACT, Australia by @tinker_bandit
