During the 2024 NFL Draft process, the New York Giants met with both Drake Maye, the North Carolina quarterback, and Jayden Daniels, the LSU quarterback, at the NFL Scouting Combine. Giants head coach Brian Daboll tested Maye on football terminology, and Maye answered quickly, showing how comfortable he was discussing the game. The Giants were doing their homework on a quarterback class that had several potential franchise players. ļæ¼

Jayden Daniels described his meeting with the Giants’ coaching staff as energetic, saying they handed him a clicker and got straight into talking football. Daniels said he enjoyed the conversation because he was passionate about the game and liked breaking it down with coaches. The interview gave the Giants a chance to learn more about his football knowledge and personality beyond his performances at LSU. ļæ¼

New York held the sixth overall pick and explored whether it could move up in the draft to select a quarterback. General manager Joe Schoen even spoke with the New England Patriots about the possibility of trading for the third pick, which the Patriots ultimately used to select Drake Maye. The Giants stayed at No. 6 and selected wide receiver Malik Nabers, while Jayden Daniels went second overall to Washington.

Ramsey had been going back and forth with veteran wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. during the game, and the two exchanged words again after the final whistle. When reporters asked about the confrontation, Ramsey fired back, ā€œY’all tell me who got in whose head.ā€ ļæ¼

Ramsey said Smith approached him after the game and called the veteran out for still being upset. He also claimed he had been locking Smith up during the matchup, telling him to ā€œgo sleep on that.ā€ Ramsey acknowledged Smith was still a good player but added that he did not respect him as a man. ļæ¼

The interview spread online as fans reacted to Ramsey’s confidence and the way he answered every question without backing down. The young cornerback made it clear he wasn’t intimidated by a veteran with a long NFL career. It became one of the defining clips from Ramsey’s early days with the Jaguars.

Wide receiver stances looked different back in the day. Receivers often lined up in a three-point stance, with one hand on the ground instead of standing upright before the snap. It was a common technique in older offenses, not some crazy move. ļæ¼

That lower stance helped receivers get off the line with leverage and could also fit offenses where blocking was a major part of their job. The way receivers lined up depended on the team’s offensive system and what coaches wanted from the position. Football technique has changed over the years, and receiver stances changed with it. ļæ¼

Today, most wide receivers use a two-point stance, staying on their feet and ready to release into a route. The older three-point stance is less common, but it was a real part of the game for decades. What looks unusual now was once a familiar sight on the football field.

Drew Brees revealed that he can no longer throw a football with his right arm because of the lasting effects of a devastating shoulder injury he suffered in 2005.

While playing for the San Diego Chargers against the Denver Broncos, Brees dislocated his right shoulder and tore his labrum, requiring major surgery to repair the damage. Doctors repaired the shoulder using multiple anchors, and the injury nearly derailed his career before he signed with the New Orleans Saints. ļæ¼

Despite that injury, Brees went on to become one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, throwing for more than 80,000 career yards and winning Super Bowl XLIV with the Saints. But the damage to his throwing shoulder continued to worsen over time, eventually leading to degenerative changes and arthritis. In 2023, Brees explained that he now throws left-handed when playing catch with his children because his right arm no longer works for throwing a football. ļæ¼

Brees also admitted that he believes he could have continued playing in the NFL if his right arm had held up. He said his body still felt capable of playing, but his shoulder prevented him from throwing with the power and accuracy required at the professional level. After retiring following the 2020 season, Brees has continued to deal with the long-term consequences of the injury that almost ended his career before his legendary run in New Orleans even began.

Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson has made throwing defenders to the ground a signature part of his game. At 6-foot-6 and around 325 pounds, Johnson combines tremendous strength with explosive footwork, allowing him to overwhelm pass rushers and finish blocks by driving them into the turf. His pancake blocks are a regular feature of Eagles highlight reels, especially when he gets into open space on running plays. ļæ¼

Johnson doesn’t just try to keep defenders away from the quarterback; he looks to finish the block and put the defender on the ground. His powerful hands and ability to stay balanced make it difficult for pass rushers to escape once he gets control of them. Film breakdowns of his play have highlighted how he uses leverage, quickness, and strength to dominate one-on-one matchups. ļæ¼

That physical style helped make Johnson one of the most respected offensive tackles of his era in Philadelphia. Drafted fourth overall in 2013, he earned multiple Pro Bowl selections and All-Pro honors while helping the Eagles win Super Bowl LII and Super Bowl LIX. When Lane Johnson gets his hands on a defender and finishes the block, the result can look less like routine pass protection and more like a wrestling takedown.

During the Arizona Cardinals’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers on November 27, 2022, wide receiver Marquise ā€œHollywoodā€ Brown, No. 2, got tangled up with Chargers cornerback Michael Davis, No. 43, during a matchup on the field. Both players ended up grabbing each other’s facemasks and jerseys, and neither immediately let go after the play.

The two players stayed locked onto each other until Davis told Brown to let go. Brown suggested they release at the same time, counting down, ā€œOne, two, three,ā€ and both players let go together. The tense-looking exchange turned into an unexpectedly funny moment caught by the mic’d-up audio. ļæ¼

The matchup took place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, where the Chargers beat the Cardinals 25–24. Brown finished with four receptions for 87 yards, while the facemask standoff gave the broadcast a memorable bit of banter between the receiver and defender.

Bill Belichick telling Tom Brady to ā€œsettle down there, buddyā€ is one of the funniest glimpses into their coach-quarterback relationship. During a 2009 New England Patriots game against the Buffalo Bills, Brady looked anxious in his first regular-season game after recovering from a torn ACL, and Belichick could be heard calmly telling him to settle down and step into his throws. ļæ¼

The exchange captures Belichick’s coaching style perfectly: direct, calm, and focused on the next play, even when his star quarterback is getting worked up. Brady listens as Belichick reminds him to get his feet set and deliver the ball properly.

Brady and Belichick went on to win six Super Bowls together with the Patriots, building one of the most successful coach-quarterback partnerships in NFL history. Even with all those championships, the clip shows Belichick treating Brady like any other player who needed a reminder to stay composed and execute.

Drew Lock brought back his signature backpack celebration after throwing the game-winning touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles on December 18, 2023. With the Seattle Seahawks trailing 17–13 late in the fourth quarter, Lock led a 92-yard drive and connected with rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 29-yard touchdown with 28 seconds remaining. ļæ¼

After the touchdown, Lock turned toward the camera and mimed putting on his imaginary backpack, a celebration he first became known for at the University of Missouri. He was shouting excitedly as teammates celebrated the comeback, and DK Metcalf came toward him on the sideline, making Lock visibly flinch for a moment. ļæ¼

Seattle won 20–17, snapping a four-game losing streak with Lock’s late-game heroics. Metcalf had three catches for 58 yards on the final drive alone, including a crucial 34-yard sideline grab that helped set up the winning score.

At Florida State games, the ref cam gets right in the middle of the action, giving fans an up-close view of everything happening on the field. The footage makes routine plays look completely different when you see them from the official’s point of view.

Instead of watching from the stands or the broadcast sideline angle, fans get a referee’s-eye view of players colliding, lining up, and fighting for position. It brings the physicality of college football right to the screen.

Ref cams have been used in football broadcasts to give viewers perspectives that traditional cameras can’t capture. I couldn’t verify the exact Florida State clip you’re referring to, so the specific game and play remain unconfirmed.
