My husband just asked me what I might like for dinner tonight. I said “I’m in the mood for Mexican.” He said “I can’t imagine why.” 😂 I have been creating Mexican for 5 days straight, and still have ideas for more dishes. I would like to make flans in caramel sauce tomorrow, and I would like to eat a flan in caramel sauce tonight!

It’s official. There is a new favorite miniature in my collection. This tiny cat, a masterful, exact replica of my actual cat, has unseated any of my other miniatures hoping for the title of “favorite.” This masterpiece was created by the one and only Kerri Pajutee, who’s talent and skill for creating animals in miniature still remains unmatched today. Unfortunately, she is closed to further commissions at this time, all the more reason for me to cherish my tiny work of art.

We’ve gone off on another road trip, this time to visit a very special new baby. It was fun to see how Selene reacted towards the her. Each time there was the slightest cry, Selene was concerned about making her “feel betta.” This little mother is going to be very helpful when her sister arrives! She was very quick to realize the power of the pacifier!

Hot mulled cider and a restock on the peppermint Christmas cakes. My sister did not like seeing me putting up Christmas items already. She said she was going to sick the holiday police on me. I thought it was a little bit early too, until all the cakes I listed last time sold in in New York minute.

This October 1, I am feeling nostalgic for when Selene was a little baby. This picture of us was taken on October 1 two years ago. This little baby will be a big sister in just 17 days, if you are doing the countdown with me.

Tomorrow we will be in October. It’s time to decorate our tiny homes with all sorts of Halloween miniatures. Since I specialize in miniature food, I am always excited to prepare a holiday banquet. I’ve brought back my crashed witch chocolate cakes today. If you miss yours, just DM me 😀

A little fall entertaining.
These days Selene is heavily into her auntie’s 33-year-old Loving Family dollhouse. We have every piece, still perfectly intact. The little dogs and cats are her favorite part, and of course she has dedicated rooms to her rubber snakes as well.

Having fun with peppermint this weekend. These starlight mints are crazy small, but they were fun to make.
During a work break, my grand girl and I tried out all the dog beds at Petco again. For $90, a few of these beds are every bit as comfy as my real couch!

Who remembers this iconic Bundt cake from their childhood?
I had lunch with my oldest family member and my youngest yesterday. I love to watch them interact. My grandbaby can do no wrong in her great grandmother’s eyes. Picture if you will, a high spirited two-year-old dressed up like a doll. Now picture that same toddler running through a dining room in an old folk’s home with a rubber snake in each hand saying “no!” to every elderly woman encouraging her to come sit by them. Sigh….

Are you ready for trick or treaters at your mini house? We are! We’ve got all of our tiny favorites here, except Milk Duds. I have special plans for my mini Milk Duds.
Our new refrigerator isn’t working. It’s under warranty for 5 years, so it’s being fixed for free. In the meanwhile, we’re eating breakfast out this morning. Grand girl is really studying the menu hard, but we all know she’s going to end up ordering just one thing. Toast.

RESTOCK!
Many days my grandgirl occupies herself with toys and books while I work nearby, but on other days she insists on “working” with me. Yesterday was one of those days. I tried hard not to react when she picked up a sharp tool, or something delicate. She sat in the nearby window sill for such a long time, telling me she is a little bird.

Has anyone seen this special edition variation on our favorite Circus Animal cookies?? “Eerie Critters” Halloween cookies. Cute and yummy ❤️
Don’t anyone get too excited over the potty book. We’re not starting anything more than a discussion, with a new baby only 3 weeks out. I ordered the book from a thrift store, remembering how helpful it was with my girl’s 25 years ago.
