Introducing Tipstudio | A design studio founded in 2020 by Imma Matera and Tommaso Lucarini — based in Florence and Pietrasanta—that explores the potential of materials and production processes through a critical approach focused on research and experimentation. Designed exclusively for Nilufar, Ceracqua is a collection of handcrafted, sculptural candleholders born from an ephemeral gesture—liquid wax released into water, capturing the instant in which fluidity crystallizes into form. Each piece emerges from this delicate encounter, suspended between spontaneity and intention, recalling the mythic birth of red coral from Medusa’s blood drops solidified upon touching the sea. As matter solidifies into organic, flowing silhouettes, these one-of-a-kind candleholders evoke mineral fragments, abyssal formations, and distant landscapes. Created in foundry wax and cast in bronze through the lost-wax process, every object is hand-finished, becoming a unique bronze design piece — the result of a spontaneous and unpredictable process — where poetic gesture meets contemporary design. We are honored to have been invited by @triennalemilano on behalf of @fipe.confcommercio to design and produce the sculptural prize for the Giornata della Ristorazione 2025. Vesta, whose name recalls the Roman goddess of the hearth, symbol of warmth, cohesion, and conviviality, embodies the act of gathering around a central element: the brazier, the heart of social life and a source of both tangible and intangible warmth. The piece is composed of three arched slabs of cast glass, arranged in a triangular layout that recalls the alchemical symbol for fire. The glass speaks to the fluidity of human relationships and the intangible warmth that flows through them, while the metal embodies the strength and permanence of bonds forged over time. Vesta is a limited-edition sculpture of 11 pieces made in Murano cast glass and handmade bronze screws, crafted using the lost wax process in our Pietrasanta workshop. Giornata della Ristorazione 2025 is an initiative promoted by FIPE-Confcommercio to celebrate and strengthen the values of Italian dining and hospitality, recognizing their cultural and social significance. Exhibition design for Insieme, a project conceived and curated by @sabato.desarno produced and presented by @vanityfairitalia Yellow marks a threshold, a point of transition where matter and time become legible. Passage becomes experience: material accumulates layers and traces, narrating the slow, stratified flow of time in space. For Insieme, we chose to set the twelve artisanal excellences through an immersive and multisensory experience, engaging sight, sound, and touch to reveal what usually remains unseen: process, waiting, concentration, and even error. The project interprets these elements as both a material and metaphorical space, a stratification that unfolds as a journey into matter itself and the human labor that shapes it. The installation is defined by a rigorous spatial structure, articulated through layers of material: suspended, opaline “skins” are counterbalanced by fluid aluminum elements. Together, they evoke the processes of subtraction and accumulation within matter, becoming both threshold and presence, and shaping an intimate, introspective spatial dimension. This approach informs the arrangement of the works and their dialogue with one another, creating a path articulated into thematic clusters: Water, Identity, Sign, Surfaces, Territory, and Memory. The cast aluminum mechanical joints are a defining element of the exhibition design we developed for INSIEME, a project conceived and curated by @sabato.desarno produced and presented by @vanityfairitalia at Piscina Cozzi. The system, used in entrance walls, display platforms, and film curtains, reinterprets the construction language of the 1930s swimming pool, turning it into a design feature that recalls the memory of the place and the fluidity of water. The bases, inspired by workshop sculpture pallets, use rivets as structural joints connecting aluminum crossbars to textured wooden surfaces. Satin, butter-toned printed films layer the space and, connected the bottom with male/female screw rivets that also act as tension weights, filter and partially reveal the works through a soft blur effect. Materials include textured microcement wooden panels, cast aluminum joints, printed satin films, and 80×80 mm aluminum profiles. Exhibition design for Insieme, a project conceived and curated by @sabato.desarno produced and presented by @vanityfairitalia We are proud to oversaw the exhibition design for such a remarkable exhibition, a collective dialogue where Insieme is not only the title, but a reflection of the spirit that brought together all the extraordinary people involved in this collaboration. This project emerges from an open dialogue developed over the past months, a process based on mutual respect, shared intuition, and a continuous exchange of ideas that allowed the work to evolve organically and find its own coherence. Matrice Coffee table designed and produced exclusively for @nilufargallery Matrice is a coffee table commissioned by Nilufar Gallery for the Grand Hotel exhibition, curated by @ninayashar during Milan Design Week. Natural bronze with verdigris patina W 130 x D 80 x H 35 cm The Matrice Low Table evokes the liquid dimension of metal, merging the memory of process with contemporary design. Born from a research-driven approach, the core is modeled directly in refractory material and layered with wax, without the use of molds. Through stratification, sculpting, and successive immersions in refractory wax at 60°C, each gesture leaves a trace, unifying the material and defining a minimal thickness for its transformation into bronze. Each piece is unique, balancing technical precision with controlled unpredictability. The verdigris patina is inspired by the crystalline waters of seas from which organic forms emerge.
