- Exhibition this week ! -

I had a pretty stressful summer but as always the darkest times make the brightest work where I'm concerned! So here is the first of a number of canvases I finished over the summer. As yet untitled because I haven't settled on a name!

We have a group exhibition at the fantastic new wine bar in Hove - Tipsy Mares @tipsymares - So I'm releasing these early - a little reluctantly.

Come and see the new paintings at:
Tipsy Mares, 34 Church Road, Hove
Thu 8th - Sun 11th October, 12 to 10pm daily
Live music on 8th (7:30-9:30 pm) and 9th Oct (8 to 10pm)

I'll be there personally on Fri and Sun 3:30 to 7pm. There are 11 of us exhibiting (full line up in comments below) so a chance to get to know some local artists and view a good variety of work.

7 of my sea inspired abstract mixed media collection will be on display and available to buy at the Tipsy Mares exhibition next Thurs 8th - Sunday 11th Oct.

Tipsy Mares is looking for a confident, welcoming supervisor to help lead our wine bar and shop in Hove.

You’ll run shifts, support and guide the team, look after our guests, and help keep service running smoothly. We’re looking for someone with hospitality experience who enjoys taking responsibility, stays calm when it’s busy, and loves creating a warm, lively atmosphere. A focus on delivering exceptional customer service is essential.

A passion for wine is a bonus; curiosity and a willingness to learn matter just as much. The role includes evening and weekend shifts.

This Exhibition features a fabulous collection of Artists presenting together for the first time at the amazing Tipsy Mares wine bar, Hove.

This mixed media Exhibition will be a lively and colourful treat for art lovers who enjoy a social vibe with music and drinks!

You will meet many of the Artists and see some of them working on original pieces, all happy to chat and meet new friends who appreciate the passion, skill and dedication that is the world of a Creative.

Sip a beautiful glass of select wine, or enjoy a cocktail or a craft ale as you enjoy the live music amongst the art for a few hours on Thursday and Friday. The Exhibition finishes on Sunday the 11th.

All work will be for sale.

We’re expanding our crew and looking for two passionate, enthusiastic folks to join our wine bar family. If you love great wine and top-tier hospitality, one of these spots might be for you:

🍷 Full-Time Senior Key Holder (30 hrs/week)
The Role: A key leadership position responsible for opening/closing, managing floor service, and keeping operations running smoothly.
What We’re Looking For: Solid wine knowledge, proven experience in a supervisory role within hospitality, and a strong sense of responsibility (key holder). Perfect for a hospitality pro.

🍸 Part-Time Bartender & Floor Staff (10–20 hrs/week)
The Role: Dynamic floor service paired with confident behind-the-bar work.
What We’re Looking For: Proficiency in core bar operations (changing kegs, crafting classic cocktails, and handling close-down routines) alongside seamless table service and a welcoming attitude.

Shift hours:
Monday-Thursday: 2:45-10:30pm
Friday-Saturday: 11:45-12pm
Sunday: 11:45-8:30pm
