This all started as a vision many years ago.
I knew the work that it would take to making this dream a reality was going to take some time. But I kept my head down and built multiple streams of income to help pay for these things. Don’t be afraid to dream big and realize it can be achievable.

There are plenty of investments I’ve passed on simply because I didn’t understand them well enough.

That doesn’t mean they were bad investments.

They just weren’t right for me.

Before I put money into something, I want to understand where the revenue comes from, where the costs are, and what could go wrong.

If I can’t make sense of the business, I’d rather keep learning than pretend I understand it.

You have fewer things tying you down.

That gives you room to try things, make mistakes, learn fast, and recover.

The goal isn’t to be reckless.

It’s to use that season to build skills, experience, and confidence before life gets more complicated.

Our boy is home!

Peyton has completed his service in the Japan Tokyo North Mission, and we couldn’t be prouder of him or more grateful to have him back.

Leaving home as a young man to serve the Lord takes real courage. You are going out on borrowed faith and the hope of is this the right decision. It can be one of the hardest and most life changing experiences of your life. The lessons you learn, the faith you develop, and the character you build stay with you long after you come home. I still draw on things I learned on my own mission in my life and business today.

There are days when it’s hard and you want to give up. Then there are days when you lose yourself in the work and begin to see the bigger plan. I’m so grateful Peyton chose to go and serve.

As a parent, letting your boy leave for a country so far from home is harder than I understood. At first it seemed like a loss to our family and I never really understood the heartache that would come with it until we experienced it. So to those that have sent your kids out I now know and feel what you have felt. You hope you’ve taught him enough and prepared him for what’s ahead. But eventually, you have to trust the Lord, let him go, and give him room to learn and grow. And while he grows, you grow. You start to see him become a man. I am speaking for Im sure most of us but I am just glad we were able to talk to him every week and Mondays became our favorite days:) because if it was like the old days I don’t think Kimber could of done it, or me:)

Throughout these two years, we’ve felt blessed as a family. I believe with all my heart that blessings came because Peyton was serving the Lord, and I will always be grateful for that.

Welcome home, Peyton. We love you, we’re proud of you, and we’re so glad to have you home!

Early on, I thought doing something myself was usually the cheaper option.

Sometimes it was.

But eventually I realized that saving a little money doesn’t help much if I’m spending my time doing work somebody else could do better.

There comes a point where holding onto everything starts slowing the business down.

Learning what to hand off was a big part of learning how to grow.

That changes with time.

Now, having the freedom to be there for my family, make my own schedule, or choose what deserves my attention means a lot more.

The things are nice.

They told you to be realistic because they couldn’t see what you could see.

Keep building anyway. Keep believing when the results aren’t there yet.
The same goals that once sounded impossible can eventually become the results everyone wants to understand.

I’ve always been interested in why some businesses keep working year after year.

The product is only part of it.

I want to know how they operate, how they treat customers, where their margins come from, and what they do differently from everyone around them.

You can learn a lot from success when you stop looking at the result and start looking at what produced it.
