Choreographed by @kianasrowland and @tljdance_, Unapologetic brought energy, power and emotions to the Say That Again stage.

Fusing Hip Hop, West African and Modern dance, Unapologetic explores Nina Simone’s legacy. Mixing recorded segments of her early interviews with a thumping, grounded beat, this piece is inspired by how the musician and activist spoke and moved with boldness, as a way to create resistance.

Enjoy, and give these choreographers and dancers some love!

Our final Say That Again piece is choreographed by @kianasrowland and @tljdance_! These choreographers have created a fusion of Hip Hop, West African and Modern dance to celebrate Black History Month.

Soundtracked by Nina Simone’s early interviews and a thumping, grounded beat, the piece is inspired by how the musician and activist spoke and moved with boldness, as a way to create resistance.

Don’t miss out on our last weekend of Say That Again @doughertyartscenter, February 26-28 at 8pm! Grab your tix today through the link in our bio.
