I really don't like being in front of the camera but it has been a while since I popped in here 'in person' to say hello. Today is 52 trips around the sun for me and I thought I'd have some profound words to share but I'm really just feeling thankful. Thankful for my kiddos who have grown into the most incredible humans. Thankful for the love and support of family and friends who think I'm crazy for some of the stuff I do. Thankful for the opportunities I've had to travel, the best people I've met along the way, and the amazing stuff I've seen and can share with you here. Thankful to God for this incredible world and all the amazing critters, big and small. Thank you for following along. I appreciate your likes and comments and really enjoy seeing so much of your work that is truly inspiring. Thank you, @maxime_lv_photography for the photo and @wpotrebka_photography for being the set director--what a blast that was! 😆 by @tlsepkovic

When this polar bear walked by and looked our way, my heart skipped a beat or two. Afterwards my hands were shaking and all I could think was "wow!" This bear is gorgeous. I am totally in awe of these incredible animals and the beautiful place they call home.

Our first two nights in Churchill were overcast and cloudy. The third night we went out with success but the aurora was weak. (Still amazing to see!) Our last night was much better. It is incredible watching the vibrant colors and ribbons of light dancing across the sky.

We were enjoying a really beautiful sunset on the Hudson Bay with a momma polar bear and her two cubs. @wpotrebka_photography called out that a Short-eared Owl was incoming and thanks to that head's up, we were able to get a few shots as it cruised by. Pretty cool that this was a first time sighting of this species for a few people in our group.

Ahhh Monday...here you are again. The weekend flies by too fast, doesn't it? This cub was super curious and put on quite a show for our group. He earned the nickname Curious George for wanting to come closer to investigate. While his sibling stayed close to momma, he was always seen wandering a distance from her. Hopefully that doesn't land him in trouble.

It is hard finding the words to describe what I was feeling in this moment. We spent some time watching this beautiful polar bear resting on a small bluff off the coast of the Hudson Bay. Then it decided to get up and passed in front of our group giving us some really incredible looks. (I'll be sharing a few images from this experience.) Heart racing with excitement and totally in awe of this remarkable creature, this moment is forever etched into my soul. Thank you, @davesandford, Dave, and @wpotrebka_photography for keeping us safe.

I was so excited when our group headed out to look for critters the one morning and it was foggy. Photographing in it can be a challenge (especially when your subject is white) but I love the mood and feeling of mystery it creates.
