Have you ever missed someone who was right in front of you? SUNDOWN is a short film that sheds light on the life of caregivers to loved ones with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Centered around the evening routine of a mother and daughter, the burden of Alzheimer's takes on a character of its own, rattling their emotions and confusing their relationship. Despite the struggles of the day and the forgotten memories, as the sun falls below the horizon, the love between mother and daughter remains. Watch the full film at the link in bio by @tmarq223

I had the opportunity to write and direct videos for the city of Albuquerque AAPINH affairs office. We created Know Your Rights against ICE videos to keep the citizens safe and to feel empowered. These videos were translated to 6 different languages and I got to work with 6 different VO artists in English, Taiwanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Dari and Arabic. The city celebrated the one year anniversary of the AAPINH city office and showcased our videos with a red carpet and dinner. Our producer and AAPINH liaison officer even won some awards! You can see the videos on YouTube now! Filipino Americans are the second-largest Asian American group in the nation and the third-largest ethnic group in California. “FilAm” tells the story of a young Filipino American on the cusp of adulthood who’s struggling to figure out his place and the world, and who he really is. Is he Filipino enough? Is he really American? And why does any of that even matter? October is Filipino American History Month, and we’re featuring a short film from director Tony Marquez who hopes that this film not only gives more Filipino representation in media, but also makes you laugh, makes you think, and makes you want to celebrate the diversity around us. 🎬 Watch now at the link in bio by @tmarq223
I am in the process of moving old short films over to YouTube and making that the primary place to host my films along with my website - please like and subscribe 😅 With early voting open and the primaries next week - I wanted to share this short film I made a few years back! Short film shot in 2020 during social distancing. “Two friends have a discussion on the recent protests/riots and the current political climate.” Originally created for the Sundance Masterclass Core Directing Elements - all students received the same generic 3 page script with only dialogue, no stage directions or backstory. Each student had to create a story based on the two characters dialogue. I chose to create a story on the importance of voting. If you haven’t seen, my short film @filammovie was published online this month for #filipinoamericanhistorymonth #fahm and is collaborating with @wellbeingsorg @wetatvfm @pbs FilAm was created and went through the film festival circuit in 2023 and we are very excited to be sharing it online! This is a film that can reach beyond just Filipinos. Many other cultures have had to learn to assimilate in America and find a way to still celebrate their roots. I hope that this film not only gives more Filipino representation in media, but also makes you laugh, makes you think, and makes you want to celebrate the diversity around us. Check it out on my YouTube and please like & subscribe #shortfilm #diversity #movietrailer by @tmarq223
Getting in touch with a heritage once lost can be a huge step to knowing who you are. “FilAm” tells the story of a young Filipino American on the cusp of adulthood who’s struggling to figure out his place and the world, and who he really is. My previous short film @filammovie is now being featured on @wellbeingsorg for #FilipinoAmericanHistoryMonth #FAHM 🇵🇭 🇺🇸 Check out the film at wellbeings.org FilAm” tells the story of a young Filipino American named JP, a boy on the cusp of adulthood who’s struggling to figure out his place and the world, and who he really is. Is he Filipino enough? Is he really American? And why does any of that even matter? JP is surrounded by opinionated but loving family and friends, who will help guide him on his path to finding his identity. #filam #shortfilm #filipino by @tmarq223
Not fully this. Not fully that.
