A little over a year ago I was printing clay prototypes at @newinc, now I’m Proud and grateful to present TEMIS — our first self-bearing 3D printed earth prototype with @seedcollective.mx

Built from the ground beneath our feet. No steel skeleton. No concrete dependency. Just geometry, material intelligence, and trust in the team.

Earth construction means lower embodied carbon, thermal mass for passive comfort, local sourcing, and architecture that can return to the soil at the end of its life.

Ancient material. Advanced tech.
A future where architecture supports humans, ecosystems, and all living beings.

Grateful for the team who believed, experimented, failed, recalibrated, and pushed this into reality.

“Alfredo Salazar-Caro’s “Silva Ex Machina (a forest from the machine)” is an animation centering on a scan of a sculpture of Xōchipilli, a Mexica deity whose name translates into “flower prince” in the Nahuatl language. Xōchipilli is associated with flowers, hallucinogenic plants, medicinal herbs, music, and dance. Both the statue and its base are covered in carvings of morning glory and other flowers, as well as sacred and psychoactive organisms such as mushrooms, suggesting transformation and the transmuting of energy. Created with generative geometries and AI, Salazar-Caro’s animation shows blossoms and plants sprouting from the rotating statue, extending the abstracted engravings into a luscious, naturalistic representation. The sculpture from which the scan has been created is housed in Mexico City, its place of origin, in the National Museum of Anthropology. The proceeds from the NFT sales will go to Eden Reforestation Projects, devoted to restoring regional forests in the Amazon with the help of local communities. Together, the collectors of the edition could potentially support the planting of a small forest. “Silvia Ex Machina” transplants Xōchipilli’s statue into a distributed virtual simulation, invoking its medicinal powers through the process of reforestation.”

Itzcoatl, Obsidian Serpent, is the first fragment of a monumental serpent imagined as an evolving architectural gesture. 3D printed in dark earth, volcanic sand, charred matter, and obsidian, its body recalls cooling lava and the living geology of the Anahuacalli. Drawn from a remixed 3D scan of a Xiuhcoatl, the work hovers between archaeology and speculation, a black serpent rising from the depths as an emblem of renewal, hidden knowledge, and the luminous
darkness from which life and consciousness emerge.

Itzcoatl was the fourth ruler of Mexico-Tenochtitlan, his name means Obsidian Serpent. This Black Earth serpent head was commissioned via @superchiefgallery and #8napart for an upcoming exhibition at @anahuacalli a beautiful museum and architectural masterpiece made from volcanic stone and designed by two of my favorite Mexican legends Diego Rivera and Juan O’Gorman.

The head of this obsidian snake is the first part of a larger body to be revealed later this year. For now im beyond thrilled for her to spend some time on her new volcanic home opening August 8th!

BIG thanks to the giant, brilliant and dedicated team that came together to make this happen
