Humbled and delighted to have been awarded an Arts Council England grant for Developing my Creative Practice.

The award is for £12,000 and will include tuition and mentoring with armourer Fred Ryall and two of the UK's leading silversmiths, Miriam Hanid and Ndidi Ekubia.

It will also, crucially, allow me time to experiment, develop technical skills, and really immerse myself in the creation of metal forming on a larger scale.

I feel extremely lucky (and surprised!) to have received this award, and will make the most of this opportunity.

Thanks to @carolinejackmanartist and @tonevonkrogh for your help with the application.

Thank you @aceagrams, I can't wait to get started.

I'm finally able to share this beautiful film by @novastudiosltd, part of a Meet the Maker series in collaboration with @theyorkshirepost.

This was filmed over several weeks earlier in the year, including interviews in the workshop, running on the moors in freezing rain, and exploring woods with my daughter (unfortunately my son was poorly on this day).

As well as being visually stunning, including drone shots over Hebden, I love the narrative. Somehow, Nova Studios have transformed my ramblings into a coherent story, connecting the act of making with ancient artifacts, staying present, and being human.

Thank you Nova Studios for this amazing opportunity, the film and features are beautiful, and I particularly like the image of my Stag Beetle brooch on the @theypmagazine front cover!

Thank you #GNCCF and @annmariegnccf for such a beautiful event. It was a pleasure to be amongst such amazing people and craft.

Tired to the bone but buzzing with thoughts and ideas.

Thanks to everyone who visited, chatted and bought a piece of jewellery, I value all these connections so much.

One of the best things about shows is the other makers. It was great to catch up with old friends and make new ones...shout out to great show neighbours: @utterly_polly anne @zivarnamurphyceramics @mor.alavifard @cotswold_knit amongst others.

And also congrats and hi to the gorgeous Hebden contingent: @sewsaima @marie_canning @hannahnunnstudio @little_black_van @juliaogdenart @geckoman.art @blottworks @catherine_woodall

I'm just going to go and percolate all this for a bit...

Fab first day at #GNCCF. So busy!

I've found the prep and build up a bit intense this year, so it's nice to be all set up and ready, and I can just come in and chat about craft (and life!) with lovely people.

So much to see, we''re open at Victoria Baths Sat 17th until 6, and Sun 18th until 4.

All set up at #GNCCF at Victoria Baths in Manchester.

I love my spot this year, in the corner of the deep end of the swimming pool (stand number C50).

As well as articulated wearable sculptures, I have a selection of silversmithing equipment with me so will be able to demonstrate some of my (less noisy) processes.

There are three swimming pools here, all filled with amazing crafts and talented humans. Amazingly, this pool is still occasionally filled with water and used for swimming. It's such a cool place to look around!

We had a very busy Preview Evening last night, and now we're open Fri-Sun (16-18 Oct), 10am until 6pm.

Business cards and new sign for my demonstration stand have arrived just in time.

2 days until #GNCCF opens, and as is tradition I still have a generous to-do list.

Deep breaths, it's going to be ok!

Here are some of the processes used to create my Scarab swivel rings, which started life as molten blobs of recycled silver.

These were then rolled into little discs, hand forged, chased, soldered, filed, finished, polished, oxidized and buffed, to create little pieces of wearable sculpture.

See and play with them first at Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair, at Victoria Baths in Manchester, next week (15-18th October).

Sneak peak at my Scarab rings, fresh from the polisher.

These won't stay shiny for long though, they're going to be oxidized and buffed, ready for #GNCCFMCR26 next week.

Just 10 days until GNCCF!

This amazing show runs from 15-18 October (Preview Evening on the 15th) at the incredible Victoria Baths in Manchester (not to be confused with @victoriabaths...not saying plumbing isn't a craft, but don't come here for a pedestal sink).

I'll be on stand C50 in the actual deep end of the actual swimming pool- it's so cool!

I'll have a selection of one-off silverware and wearable sculptures with me, including new work and this Coleoptera Cup, which is hand forged from a single piece of silver using traditional silversmithing techniques.

The countdown is on! The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair opens in just two weeks 🌟

Part two of our jewellery line-up brings a different kind of contrast, playful next to precious, bold shapes next to intricate detail.

From architectural silhouettes to delicate, nature-inspired forms, every piece here has been shaped by hand, worked in silver, gold, enamel and more, each one carrying the mark of the person who made it.

Swipe through to see who’s joining us this year.

Delighted to be exhibiting at GNCCF in two weeks time (15-18 October), showing my work alongside 200 of the UK’s finest makers, at the beautiful Victoria Baths in Manchester.
