29th July 2023 Spent the morning dodging showers, and turning my fingers black re-polishing the metal work and cleaning the engine bay. 6th November 2021 Its exactly 3 years ago today that I bought the van, crazy when I look how far itโ€™s come from that totally stock 1.6TDi that it once was. Most of the changes were never originally intended, but we all know how these things go and it certainly doesnโ€™t help when you go on the @caddy2k.comforum . Iโ€™m absolutely over the moon with how well itโ€™s done at shows this year, especially as it was never built for this purpose in mind, it is still my daily driver dog van after all, and spends most of its time filthy and full of pine needles ๐Ÿ˜ซ. Thanks to those that have took the time to view the van or read the forum build thread, and for any comments about it. My favourite to date has to be from a young chap whilst the van was on the @pvw_mag display @traxshows Silverstone, when he simply stated to his friend โ€œNah itโ€™s shit, itโ€™s got rear seatsโ€ ๐Ÿ˜†. I wonโ€™t be making many changes this coming winter as itโ€™s pretty much exactly how I want it, however I do have a few little things sat waiting to be fitted (nothing exciting though), and I need to make some self levelling VW centre caps for the wheels (canโ€™t believe how controversial my wheel choice is ๐Ÿ˜‚). Iโ€™ve been trying to decide which is my favourite part of the van, but Iโ€™m really struggling to be honest. Possibly the interior, especially at night when everything is lit up ๐Ÿค”. Although itโ€™s hard not to say the engine; as that never fails to give me or any passengers a chuckle or ten, itโ€™s just so much fun. Certainly a hard one so Iโ€™ll just cheat and say it all ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. 11th October 2026 Full clean, and a few little maintenance jobs done, including emptying the catch can ๐Ÿคฎ. As temps have been down to 6 degrees this week, I also thought it would be best to put the Audi wheels back on before the salt comes. I regularly get asked why I donโ€™t bother showing the van anymore. Well if you scroll, youโ€™ll see. I done the majority of the van build in 2021, and itโ€™s been daily driven since. Its last show was @ultimatestanceshow in 2024 where it got a top 20 award. Unfortunately winters are harsh to the drivetrain, this ultimately led to the paint coming off the front shocks, and it becoming too much work maintaining what I consider to be show standard. 17th July 2026 Another year another clean MOT for the van. Really impressed that 5 years on and itโ€™s still flying through the emissions (legally), with the @bcs_powervalve 100 cell Cat . 15th May 2026 Been a long time since Iโ€™ve done anything with the Caddy, but today I had a run over to see @mrcarbon to collect my @rotiform lips that he has been doing in Carbon Fibre for me. I had pretty much decided on selling these wheels due to having zero appetite to show the van again. However, now Iโ€™ve seen how awesome they look, I now need to decide what to do, and if I either: A) build them up in a โ€œusableโ€ finish and have them on in summer. B) Store them for future use. 10th January 2026 After being slightly neglected recently, the Caddy was treat to a full wash and an oil/filter change today. Itโ€™s still not too shabby once cleaned up. 26th November 2025 Wow, Iโ€™ve just been nerding around on the forum, and noticed my vans thread has now had 1003559 views. Over one million views is just crazy! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ When I last recorded the post count, it achieved 500,000 on August 29th 2024, so thatโ€™s over 500,000 views in 15 months. Which is a rapid increase in views (and the reason I missed the one million mark). Itโ€™s also strange as Iโ€™ve pretty much not done anything with the van in that time. 19th May 2025 Actually done something on the van todayโ€ฆ. My mate is trading his stage 3 Golf in, so it was a day of removing all the fancy parts from his engine bay.
